“Get that dog off your board…
Donald Trump wants former House Speaker Paul Ryan gone.
Whether it's in retaliation for his latest remarks suggesting Trump should grow up to Neil Cavuto, his refusal to support the presumptive Republican nominee or something else that we're not privy to, the former president has had enough of his onetime political ally.
The latest twist in their ongoing feud occurred on Wednesday when Trump took to Truth Social to pillory the “very disloyal” Ryan.
“Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors,” Trump wrote. “He's a total lightweight, a failed and pathetic Speaker of the House, and a very disloyal person. Romney was bad, but Paul Ryan made him look worse. As a team, they never had a chance. Rupert and Lachlan, get that dog off your Board – You don't need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Despite their previous work together, Ryan has become a vocal critic of Trump in recent years.
Appearing on “Your World” last week, Ryan explained to Cavuto why he wouldn't be voting for Trump.
He further claimed that Trump is now “the establishment” and should behave accordingly.
Ryan, who described himself as an “anti-establishment Republican,” accused Trump of putting himself over the Constitution. He also blamed Trump for recent Republican electoral losses.
The comments led Cavuto to say, “Well, he doesn't like you either.”
“Everyone knows we will well lose the election if we nominate this guy again,” Ryan said in May.
Ryan stated in May that he will not vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election and plans to write in another candidate's name.
“Character is too important,” he remarked at the time.
