Joe Biden Can’t Defend His Views on Abortion

President Joe Biden continued to turn his back on his proclaimed Catholic faith when a reporter asked him, “As a Catholic, why do you support abortion?”

“I don’t want to get into a debate with you on theology,” responded the president. While First Lady Jill Biden pulled him away, Biden said he won’t “make a judgment for other people.”

His response disregarded Catholic values and assumed a “personally pro-life” stance, which does not protect the life of the innocent or fulfill the teachings of the church. However, the comment does not come as a surprise as the Biden Administration has expressed pro-abortion views and supported extreme abortion bills. 

Still, President Biden is a hypocrite for claiming to be Catholic while failing to support religious values in his political role. From his time as a senator to being vice president, and now president, Biden is well aware of the power politicians hold, especially with regard to abortion. 

According to reports, the Biden Administration ​​allocated $88 million for human fetal tissue research through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Despite controversy and criminal activity surrounding such research, the government is funneling taxpayer money toward these inhumane experiments. 

One horrendous study explained scalping five-month-old aborted children to create “humanized mice” by placing the skin grafts on the rodents. This led to questions about whether or not the fetal tissue originated from babies that were born alive and subsequently killed through organ harvesting (infanticide) and if the abortion procedures were changed for the purpose of obtaining aborted fetal tissue for research. Both of which are against federal law.

Furthermore, last year Biden lifted restrictions on fetal tissue research, opening the door for more criminal activity. By reversing a Trump-era policy, fetal tissue research requests no longer have to undergo review by a federal ethics advisory board. 

Father Tad Pacholczyk, the director and ethicist at the National Catholic Bioethics Center, told the National Catholic Register that Biden quickly reversed course on fetal tissue research, and now is “returning us to the prior situation where fetal tissue research faced very few practical barriers or limitations.”

In another Trump-policy reversal, Biden allowed federal funding to go towards pro-abortion “family planning” clinics, like Planned Parenthood. 

In a time when Roe v. Wade is walking the line and the pro-life movement is stronger than ever between anti-abortion legislation and activism, the president is a key player. However, President Biden is complacent and apathetic towards the biggest human rights issue of our day. 

During his State of the Union address, the president said abortion is “under attack as never before,” and suggested, “If we want to go forward — not backward — we must protect access to health care, to preserve a woman’s right to choose.”

President Biden has failed to uphold his alleged Catholic faith and is a disgrace to the teachings of the church. This is proved time and time again as his administration continues to disregard the sanctity of human life.
