Mike Pence Shoots Back After Trump Blames Pro-Life Voters for 2022 Losses. Do You Agree?

-

In a rare case of publicly squaring off against his one-time running mate, former Vice President batted down former President Donald Trump's claim that pro-life political positions dragged down Republican candidates in the .

“It wasn't my fault that the didn't live up to expectations in the MidTerms,” Trump wrote in a Jan. 2 post on his platform, amid claims from the and others that Republicans were harmed by Trump's personal conduct and claims the 2020 election was “stolen.”

“It was the ‘ issue,' poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters,” Trump added.

In an interview with the conservative Daily Signal, Pence directly disagreed and instead praised pro-life Republicans for delivering conservative wins.

“I strongly disagree and I believe that the facts speak for themselves,” said Pence.

“The president is entitled to his opinion, but I think the facts speak otherwise,” added Pence.

Pence also pointed out that Republican candidates who offered a “clear, unambiguous commitment to life” outperformed Republicans who “shied away from the issue or who allowed to define their position.”

Indeed, every Republican governor who signed laws restricting the practice of abortion was reelected with strong support, and numerous pro-abortion Democrats were replaced by pro-life Republicans.

Pence also took issue with statements that the right to life should be ignored to score more electoral wins.

“The cause of life is so much more important than ,” said Pence, who urged pro-life Republicans to keep pressing for further civil rights advancements.

“It may take us as long to restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law in all 50 states as it took us to overturn , but we can never rest and we can never relent until we achieve that victory for life,” said Pence.

While the Supreme Court's 2022 decision in overturned its 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, it merely restored abortion as an issue to be decided by states.

Pro-life activists continue to push to strip abortion centers of their taxpayer funding and ratify a Human Life Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protecting the right to life from conception to natural death.

  1. Pence, who refused to save the 2020 election, is now lecturing on life! Why didn’t he do something to save the election and pro-life Trump would be president instead of bungling, gaffe-prone, creepy, commie Joe!?

  2. In truth, it was due to a combination of factors, and not just one issue. Lack of leadership support from both McConnell and McDaniels contributed immensely to the low success.
