NATIONAL SECURITY

Ukraine military chief says ‘limited' nuclear war cannot be ruled out. In an article for 's state news agency, army chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi acknowledged that his forces were behind strikes on Russian bases in Crimea last month. He also warned that a “limited” nuclear war between and the West, initiated by Russia, cannot be discounted, a scenario with grave global implications.

HOMELAND SECURITY

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 197. The Ukrainian army claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Russian airbases on the occupied peninsula of Crimea, including one that caused devastation at the Saky military facility last month. Ukrainian forces attacked the occupied eastern town of Balakliia and appeared to have reclaimed the town of Verbivka in the Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian forces aim to retake Kherson by year's end as gains made in south, US and Ukrainian officials say. One week into a new counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces are making gains in the south, with the ambitious goal of taking back most of the Russian-occupied region of Kherson by the end of the year, senior US officials and Ukrainian officials tell CNN.

Belarus starts military exercises near border regions. Belarus has started military exercises by the city of Brest near the Polish border, its capital Minsk and the northeast region of Vitebsk, the defense ministry said on Thursday.

IRAN THREAT

NORTH KOREA THREAT

Restart of large-scale military drills reinvigorates anti-war protesters in South Korea. The recent end to a five-year pause in large-scale military exercises by the and South Korea has reinvigorated critics who view them as unnecessary and shielded by a lack of information.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

US-backed forces in Syria arrest dozens of ISIS terrorists hiding in refugee camp. The Syrian Democratic Forces say they dissolved the network inside the al-Hol refugee camp.

New US military testing facility coming to Saudi Arabia. The U.S. military is developing a new testing facility in to help stifle an increasing number of threats to the region.

BIDEN'S AFGHAN FIASCO

JUST HORRIBLE – Afghanistan withdrawal anniversary brings painful memories. The images of desperate Afghans swarming to flee Kabul at the end of the mission filled me with a painful sense of loss.

US MILITARY AND SPACE

  1. We should let Russia know that if they should unleash nuclear weapons on Ukraine that Russia had better be ready for a like kind strike on Moscow and St Petersburg. Bullies will only bully if they believe they can do so without severe consequences. We and the entire west have let Russia get away with too much. Remember history. Remember WWII —– no one confronted Hitler until it was almost too late. As Patrick Henry said, “Give me liberty or give me death!” I am certain that Russia will not be willing to face annihilation over Ukraine.

  2. I do not believe there is a such thing as ‘LIMITED’ nuclear war. Don’t rub the lamp! Genies are demons. Once the demons of destruction are roused, they will embark on a field day long planned.
