A Republican canvasser for Sen. Marco Rubio's reelection campaign was violently assaulted last night in the Miami suburb of Hialeah.
The volunteer was knocking on doors as part of the senator's get-out-the-vote effort. According to Rubio's official Twitter account, he was wearing a Rubio campaign shirt and a DeSantis baseball hat when four hooligans told him he wasn't welcome in the neighborhood.
By the time they were finished, the young man suffered internal bleeding and a broken jaw. He was transported to the hospital in an ambulance and will need reconstructive facial surgery.
Hialeah is a conservative enclave. Despite that, the political climate is unusually tense, as this isn't the first violent, unprovoked attack on a conservative activist.

In an emailed response to the Miami Herald, Hialeah Sgt. Jose Torres said the 27-year-old victim had been hit “multiple times in the face and the head causing the injuries.”
Torres said the victim, who wasn't named, had crossed the street at 140 E. 60th St. after being told he couldn't hand out fliers there, and that he was followed. Torres said Javier Lopez, 25, struck him repeatedly, causing bruises and lacerations. Lopez was arrested, Torres said. He didn't say what crime Lopez was charged with.
During a Monday rally at the John F. Kennedy Library in Hialeah to mark the start of early voting in South Florida, Rubio told a crowd about the alleged incident, but stressed that not all the details were known.
“Sadly, we get the news and we're still waiting for details. It's always important to have details. We're not like these other people that always jump to conclusions, but we know this: Someone wearing a Rubio T-Shirt and a DeSantis hat was walking in a neighborhood not far from here yesterday when four individuals assaulted him, broke his nose, broke his jaw,” and gave him internal bleeding, Rubio said.
RealClearPolitics has Rubio leading Rep. Val Demings, D-Orlando, by an average of 6.4%. The most recent survey in the DeSantis-Crist race has the incumbent government ahead by 11 points. Some prognosticators believe the Republican governor is even leading in Miami-Dade County, which shifted dramatically towards then-President Donald Trump in 2020.

That is Rubio’s and the Republican’s problem right there. The Left continues to escalate their violence because they have been led to believe that they have a “get out of jail free” card. A whole deck of them. The Republicans do nothing to counteract that belief. I’m willing to bet that the Perpetrators of this crime will never come to trial and will be back on the street for more mayhem in short order. History has shown us that, unless it is checked, violent oppression will get worse and more abusive. Communities survive by organizing “neighborhood” self-defense organizations.
This Florida case is about the hundredth instance of abuse of conservatives that has come to my attention. I can count the number of Leftists so attacked on the fingers of one finger. The police, the State Attorney’s General, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Inquisition), and the DOJ (Democratic Office of Jive) all work for the Democrats. If Rubio and the Republicans won’t fight back, they should step aside for those who will.

We’re in the situation we have now, all due to spineless do-nothing conservative leaders who only ever saw their political careers as good paying jobs, and did nothing to stop the continual onslaught of Leftism, and it’s eventual takeover. The Left has an abundance of passionate committed leaders, who understand and agree with their plan to bring down this country, and they all cooperate with each other toward that goal. They even have their own institutions to organize themselves and communicate their goals and methods, even embezzling taxpayer money to fund them.
To combat or stop that well thought-out plan, the Right has nothing.
And what few conservative leaders we supposedly have only hold the line, at best, but do nothing to push back, or gain back ground, and once it’s lost, it’s gone for good, because no one on the Right ever does anything but try to slow the oncoming Leftist agenda, but never win back the ground that was taken, which is why we are so far left now.
Where the far Left was 10 years ago, we are, as a country, now.
There is no one fighting for us. At least, not the way the Leftist leaders fight for their cause.
The problem is that it’s just the nature of “good people” to have no interest in holding public office. Good people want nothing more than to mind their own business, live their own lives and let others do the same, and they assume everyone else does too. But evil people lust for power, desire political office, seek wealth & influence in politics, and so are the majority of those who run for office, while decent honest people want nothing to do with it.
Hopefully they will stay in jail…am I asking too much?

Going door-to-door is dangerous for people who are not Lefties, and the practice needs to be curtailed. If it is to continue, only armed burly males should do so, and backups with baseball bats should be nearby in case a campaign-worker is attacked by Democrat thugs, as happened in this case.
