Minihan's sense of urgency differs starkly from the 's approach to the threat posed by China.

Husband of top enlisted airman fired warning shot at base intruder. Another intruder has breached the home of Air Force One, one of the nation's most sensitive military bases, and this time a resident opened fire on the trespasser, Joint Base Andrews said in a statement late Monday.

CHINA THREAT

China surpasses US in number of ICBM launchers. China now has more Intercontinental Ballistic Missile launchers than the U.S. according to a congressional notification from U.S. Strategic Command, or STRATCOM, which oversees the nuclear arsenal.

Chinese balloon part of vast aerial surveillance program, US says. China's spy balloon effort operates in Hainan province off China's south coast and has for years collected information on military assets in several countries, U.S. officials say.

Navy admiral expresses ‘concern' with Pentagon's ability to detect Chinese spy balloons. A Navy admiral and former head of U.S. Pacific Command on Tuesday said it was “concerning” that the Defense Department was unable to detect at least four previous Chinese spy balloons that flew over the U.S. in recent years.

Pentagon says Austin rebuffed when he sought to reach out to Beijing over Chinese spy balloon. Directly after the U.S. military shot down a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon on Saturday, the Pentagon's top civilian attempted to reach out to his Chinese counterpart but was rebuffed, the Defense Department revealed Tuesday.

UKRAINE WAR

Ukraine says Russians endure deadliest day, German minister in Kyiv announces tank supplies. Ukraine said on Tuesday the last 24 hours were the deadliest of the war so far for Russian troops as Moscow pressed on with an intensifying winter assault in the east, bringing tens of thousands of freshly mobilized troops to the battlefield. 

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 350. Ukraine's military said on Tuesday that 1,030 Russian troops were killed over 24 hours, the highest daily toll of the war. For its part, Russia said it had inflicted 6,500 Ukrainian casualties in the month of January. Reuters could not independently verify either report.

Russia accuses US embassy of ‘fake news' over Ukraine, threatens expulsions. Russia has demanded that the U.S. embassy in Moscow stop spreading what Moscow regards as fake news regarding its military operation in Ukraine and has threatened to expel U.S. diplomats, the TASS news agency reported on Tuesday.

European coalition to give refurbished Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. German officials have approved an export license for industry-owned Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine, enabling a coalition of donor countries to provide up to 178 of the weapons for Kyiv's troops.

Ukraine has more pressing needs than F-16s, top senator says. Although Ukrainian officials insist they need modern combat aircraft like F-16s to repel Russia's invasion, the jets wouldn't make a “critical difference in the fight,” and Ukraine has more urgent needs, Armed Services Committee chair Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) said Feb. 7.

How to help Kyiv go on a drone offensive. While the U.S. and its allies have provided Ukraine with air defense systems, Washington should also help Kyiv flip the script on Russia.

BIGGEST US-ISRAELI EXERCISE EVER – Junipers, oaks, and killer tomatoes. The and Israel conducted the Juniper Oak 23 multi-domain military exercise in late January. The Pentagon calls it the “largest” and “most significant” bilateral U.S.-Israel exercise in history.

US military not ready to deploy missiles to Japan, country's defense ministry says. The United States is not ready to deploy a variety of new missiles in , contrary to a recent newspaper report, the country's Ministry of Defense said this week.

Philippine President Marcos Jr visits Japan as security in focus. Philippine president and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida are expected to sign an agreement allowing for closer security ties between both nations.

India successfully lands light combat aircraft, MiG-29K on carrier. A technology demonstrator of India's single-engine light combat aircraft successfully landed on the country's first locally built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on Monday for the first time, as part of compatibility testing.

US government begins sending earthquake aid to Turkey. The U.S. is working to provide aid to earthquake victims in the Middle East.

US Space Force's unmanned vehicle creates sonic boom over Florida upon re-entry. A U.S. Space Force research space plane returned to Earth after 908 days in orbit. The re-entry caused a boom heard over several parts of Florida.

US MILITARY

The Army once developed a sim round to mimic a nuclear explosion. The Army once had a simulation round for a tactical nuclear blast.

    Yes, but our military is more prepared in using politically correct pronouns and reciting fairy tales known as CRT.

  2. All nonsense, the USA now talks with a big stick but walks quietly! Hell the military doesn’t even know how to capture a balloon in flight over our own airspace! We are a shell of our former self! And that as the woke Marxist lead our government around by the nose!
