‘Tuidang’ – 400 Million Chinese Quit the Communist Party – More to Come

-

How to eat an elephant? One bit at a time – And that's how one brave group is undermining the 's (CCP's) totalitarian control over the people of .

According to activist reports, as of August 3, more than 400 million Chinese have renounced their affiliation with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The Chinese word for ‘quit the party' is ‘Tuidang' and the movement to leave the party is growing.

The Tuidang movement began in 2004, after the release of the “Nine Commentaries of the Communist Party,” a book first published by the Chinese language edition of The Epoch Times detailing the brutality and lies perpetrated by the CCP.

The movement to extricate the Chinese people from the clutches of the CCP is led by the Tuidang Center, a global organization focused on encouraging people to renounce their oath to the Party.

The group is led by members of the peaceful Falung Gong spiritual group viciously persecuted by the regime.

Falun Gong is a meditation practice with moral beliefs centered around the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. Its huge popularity in China during the 1990s — with up to 100 million practicing by 1999 — was deemed a threat to the CCP's authoritarian grip on power.

To rescind the CCP oath requires a formal statement — even if done using a pseudonym for fear of CCP retaliation.

The Epoch Times reports that:

In Taiwan, there are about 3,000 volunteers supporting the Tuidang movement. Each month, about 20,000 mainland Chinese would agree to renounce their Party affiliations after talking with them over the phone or in person, according to one coordinator, Bai Dexiong.

Overall, the Tuidang center globally sees about 50,000 requests every day, according to the center's estimates.

The CCP's draconian COVID crackdowns and the obvious lies and repression surrounding the pandemic have fueled distrust of the Party among many Chinese, providing a boost to the movement.

ET adds:

Bai recounted a recent case of a man from China's Shandong who sought one of the Tuidang centers for assistance. The man looked somewhere between 20 and 30 years old. He described himself as a former nationalist who would be stirred at the slightest criticism of the CCP.

His attitude changed, however, when he tested positive for COVID-19 and authorities sealed the door of his apartment and locked him inside, barring him from basic activities such as buying food. He lost his job during the quarantine period. He spent his new free time on the internet, and by using the virtual private network to bypass the CCP's digital censorship, read voraciously about the regime's past and became ashamed about his former ignorance, he told the volunteer, according to Bai.

As ET explains:

The CCP maintains three organizations for different age groups: the Young Pioneers, for children aged 14 and younger; the Communist Youth League, for those between 14 and 28 years old, and Party membership.

While the latter two are not mandatory, Party membership is still considered a necessary credential for anyone aspiring for a career in government or state-owned enterprises. As of 2021, China had about 110.4 million Young Pioneers, 73.7 million Youth League members, and 96.7 million Party members, according to state data. This adds to a total of 280.8 million—one-fifth of the Chinese population.

But Yi, the president of the Tuidang Center, believes the scope of the CCP's control over society to be much wider. In joining each of the Party affiliates, the individual must make a vow to devote their life to the Party. Such a promise essentially binds the person to the regime even if age automatically un-enrolls them from the youth groups, she said.

By getting hundreds of millions of regular Chinese citizens to quietly renounce their allegiance to the Party, the Tuidang Center is helping to release a mass of Chinese from the immoral psychological grip of the brutal CCP regime.

Even an elephant can be taken down, one bit at a time. ALD

  1. Those people have most likely signed their own death warrant. You don’t quit the party there, and live to tell about it.

  2. Those numbers don’t add up. The headlines say 400 million have quit, but the end of the article says there are 280.8 million registered CCP members. So nearly double the number of official members have withdrawn, most likely under assumed names, as the article says they can. I suspect a typo here – 40 million would make more sense.

  3. Communist China has thrown down it’s gauntlet against America, wake up,it’s time for a response, Biden family bought are paid for, new leadership required,we do not need to kiss China ass, they are in the process of undermining our effort to our constitution, keep our people
    free from war lord mentality.

  5. Taiwan is probably the most threatened by Tuidang in the short term. Expected CCP response to losses like this is to pursue a nationalism building, unifying operation, like reunification with the Renegade Province. They’ve already used Hong Kong to get over the last crisis.
