Famous Economist Suggests US Behind Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage

-

Three separate ruptures rocked the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea last week. The sabotage of both pipelines took place just beyond Danish and Swedish territorial waters.

According to initial reports, like one in the great British daily, The Times, a defense source believed bombed the gas pipeline with an underwater drone. Critics of that theory, like New York Times bestselling author Jim Rickards took to Twitter to argue that Russia could have halted the flow of gas without damaging difficult-to-fix infrastructure.

Now, an even more prominent voice is expressing skepticism about the widespread belief that Russia sabotaged the pipelines: Columbia University Economist .

The Daily Wire further reports:

The pipelines, which carry natural gas under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany, have been the center of geopolitical strife since the invasion of Ukraine. Russia nixed shipments through Nord Stream 1 several weeks ago, while Germany blocked the adjacent Nord Stream 2 from beginning shipments days before. Sweden and Denmark reported damage to the pipelines last week as the system operator confirmed that the destruction was “unprecedented.”

During an appearance on Bloomberg TV, Sachs — who directs Columbia University's Center for Sustainable Development — agreed with some Europeans who have suggested that the had the strongest motive to carry out the alleged attack.

“The European economy is getting hammered by the sudden cutoff of energy,” Sachs contended. “And now to make it definitive, the destruction of the Nord Stream Pipeline — which I would bet was a U.S. action, perhaps U.S. and Poland.”

When asked to justify his assertion, Sachs claimed that radar data indicated that American military helicopters typically based in Gdansk, Poland, had been circling over the area. He also noted that President  said days before the invasion that he would “bring an end” to Nord Stream 2 if Russian troops entered Ukraine. After the pipelines were destroyed, Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the phenomenon a “tremendous opportunity” to end European reliance on Russian energy.

's strategy all along has been to tighten the screws on 's natural gas supply as winter approaches. The pipelines' main owner is the Russian state-controlled energy company, Gazprom.

  1. Another anti-American Leftist who needs to be removed from his cushy overpaid Ivy League position. The Center for Sustainable Development – what a crock!

    • Dom, don’t be so sure the USA is not behind this, Biden has managed to screw up everything he has touched from the economy, inflation, Afghanistan withdrawal, etc. Biden and his bungling administration inherited a great economy and standing in the world and now we are the laughing stock of the world!

  2. I wish SloJoe had the gumption to do something like this. Lay some pain on the USSR. (Which they still are, for all practical purposes).

  3. You would have to be an idiot to believe Russia would destroy this pipeline. Putin had European nations including Germany in the palm of his hand. Thanks to The WEF, shutting down oil and gas production all over the world, using puppet regimes, like Biden. The pipelines represented billion’s of dollars to Putin and with winter arriving, leverage over Europe in the Ukraine. Poland’s pipeline became operational the same day. Poland publicly thanked the Globalist United States government hours after the attack.

    • Sure looks like it. The Biden administration telegraphed the action through his words and the words of others in his administration.

  4. Putin could shut off the pipeline any time he wants, True. But then everyone would know he did it. Blow up the pipeline, blame the USA or other counrties and he’s off the hook. However, he is showing everyone in Europe what it’s like without his gas flowing to keep them warm and their factories running.

  5. I doubt Trump would sabotage the pipeline. As for Biden or his handlers, I hope they would not sabotage it. Still, my greatest fear is that a deadly false flag operation is at work here.
