House Ethics Committee Opens Investigation into AOC

-

The has reportedly opened an investigation into Democrat darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Ny.)

The Ethics Committee released the following release regarding the investigation:

The Acting Chairwoman and Acting Ranking Member of the Committee on Ethics have jointly decided to extend the matter regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which was transmitted to the Committee by the Office of Congressional Ethics on June 23, 2022.

The Committee notes that the mere fact of a referral or an extension, and the mandatory disclosure of such an extension and the name of the subject of the matter, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee.

The Committee will announce its course of action in this matter following its organizational meeting and adoption of Committee Rules in the 118th Congress.

The congressional office for AOC responded to the investigation.

“The congresswoman has always taken ethics incredibly seriously, refusing any donations from lobbyists, corporations, or other special interests,” Lauren Hitt, an AOC spokeswoman, told Forbes after news of the investigation emerged.

    • Well, there ‘ya go! If she did something unethical it wasn’t really unethical because she didn;t know any better. She didn’t know that it’s wrong to take money from lobbyists or whatever.

      • Yeah. And all those guys in jail just because when they shot someone, they didn’t realize that the person might get wounded or dead…….shouldn’t they all be let go? They didn’t really mean it – had no idea off the consequences of pulling a trigger!

  1. She’s a Democrat it wouldn’t matter if she rob the U.S. mint all she would have to do is say she was doing it to donate to the DNC and they would automatically give her the monopoly get out of jail card.
