Disgruntled Democrat Threatens House Speaker After Getting the Boot From Committee

-

Tensions are high among Congressional lawmakers.

Newly-elected Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is getting threats after he removed some Democrats from prominent committees.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) seems most upset by his sudden discharge from the , despite the years-long efforts to have him removed. (RELATED: McCarthy to Strip 3 Democrats of Plum Committee Assignments)

In a disgruntled message, Swalwell seemed to warn Speaker McCarthy should expect some political retribution in the future.

“We will not be quiet,” Swalwell said Wednesday, referring to fellow Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff of and Ilhan Omar of , both booted from committees, too. “We're not going away. I think he'll regret giving all three of us more time on our hands.”

“But at the end of the day, our mission now is to restore the credibility and integrity of this institution of which the speaker has so gravely, so gravely smashed and destroyed,” the Democrat added.

Swalwell also claimed McCarthy is responsible for alleged death threats he's been receiving, asserting, “Even though we have said publicly, ‘These smears are bringing death threats against us,' he continues to do it, which makes us believe that there's an intent behind it.”

The California Democrat has been facing calls to be removed from the committee for refusing to address reports that he had an affair nearly 10 years ago with a Chinese national named Christine Fang, who posed as a political supporter but was later revealed to be a Chinese spy.

cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So, I will not allow him to be on Intel,” McCarthy said back in November.

McCarthy on Tuesday announced that he had rejected Swalwell and Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee.

  1. This is not Swalwell’s first threat. He has threatened American citizens over gun ownership like Beto O’Rourke and Joe Biden have done on many occasions. I believe the days of McCarthyism will return. And these Communist sympathizers will become a rare species in America.

  2. Hey, swalwell. We all know your mission is to sell our country down the drain to the commies! You should be careful when threatening others, ‘ya never know when they will stand up and slap you again!

  3. Did Swalwell, in his rant against Speaker McCarthy, even bother to apologize for sleeping with CCP spy Fang Fang? It’s absurd that he was EVER trusted with an Intel Committee assignment. Even the FBI (which is the farthest thing from a tool of the Republican Party imaginable) recommended that Swalwell not be allowed to sit on the House Intel Committee several years ago – a recommendation that Speaker Pelosi cavalierly ignored.
