On Thursday, Trump made history by becoming the first U.S. president to be convicted of a felony.

As Trump seeks to shore up support after the trial rumors continue to swirl as to who will be his next running mate.

“Absolute injustice. This erodes our justice system,” said Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) in a post on X.

“Hear me clearly: You cannot silence the American people,” he added. “You cannot stop us from voting for change. Joe — you're fired. We the People stand with Donald J. Trump.”

House Republican Conference Leader Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said in a statement that the verdict “shows how corrupt, rigged, and unAmerican the weaponized justice system has become under Joe Biden and Democrats.”

“Import the Third World, become the Third World. That's what we just saw,” began Carlson in a post on X. “This won't stop Trump. He'll win the election if he's not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world.”

“Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family,” he added.

After the verdict, a poll by the Daily Mail suggests that Trump's support has been beefed up. Looks like he's still got some loyal fans!

Time will tell if those numbers will hold.
