President Biden is political poison and even he knows it.
According to a recent report from Politico, the President is willing to do whatever it takes to help Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock cross the finish line, including staying as far away from the race as possible.
“Biden aides tell us the White House let the campaign know they are willing to do whatever they need to keep the seat blue — including stay out of it, if need be. Their only focus is the win,” the Politico report reads.
Biden's unpopularity isn't exactly a secret, for much of his presidency Biden has seen his approval rating slide into the negatives.
A recent Politico/Morning Consult poll reported 56% of the country disapproves of Biden.
The most recent approval survey conducted by Reuters/Ipsos clocked the President's disapproval rating at a whopping 57%, according to RealClearPolitics.
However, while Warnock likely isn't too keen on receiving any extra help from President Biden former President Barack Obama is scheduled to campaign for Warnock on December 1, just five days before the actual runoff election. Obama also made a campaign stop in support of Warnock last month.
A recent AARP poll found Warnock leading Republican Herschel Walker slightly in support with 51 to Walker's 47 percent. The poll was among likely voters, but the margin of error for the data is 4.4 percent, potentially actually leaving the two closer to a dead heat.
