Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ National Debut as Governor a Hit With Republicans

-

Arkansas Gov. ' rebuttal drew a sharp contrast with President Biden's last night.

And it was a hit with Republicans.

The nascent GOP politician and Trump White House alum used her interpersonal and communication skills to connect with tens of millions of voters who fill left behind: casualties of the woke mob and our economic malaise.

At the same time, she took a measured tone in her response.

Per Hot Air:

She didn't engage in bombast but definitely didn't hold back in her criticism of Biden or the cultural craziness of the Democrat Party.

Republicans are in a weird position on the culture wars and have been for decades. On the one hand, most Americans agree with us on the basic issues, but on the other hand, the public sees Republicans, wrongly, as aggressors in the culture wars. Simply put, Americans prefer not to think too much about these issues, and default to a mode of tolerance and avoidance of difficult topics.

Pull out a book that sits in a public school library and show it to people; they get disgusted by it but blame you for showing it to them. Why are you showing them pornography, they ask? The fact that it is liberals who put it there doesn't sink in, because it is so absurd that anybody would hand that to a kid. We get blamed for pointing it out.

But things are changing, because the Left is going warp speed in the culture wars, and Huckabee Sanders went there–as a mom.

  1. I’m not on Twitter, but I read a few of the tweets included in this article. The negative ones I read largely revolved around the theme that Mrs. Huckabee-Sanders and the rest of “us” were talking about things we didn’t understand. I would say that is wrong. The actual case is that she and “we” understand all too clearly.

We are being bombarded from every direction, with the active participation of the government, most of the media, academia (and its little sister, public education), big business, and so on with a concerted propaganda campaign for a loosely associated assortment of neo-religions. Prominent among them are climate change, transgenderism, radical libertarianism (LBTQXYZ, etc.), bound conscience, secular humanism, and others. Mrs. Huckabee-Sanders has staked out the position of the Republican party and expanded public understanding of that position. Good on her.
