Florida Passes Constitutional Carry, Colorado Assault Weapons Ban Pulled

-

Days and weeks that follow national tragedies often come with reactionary legislative moves, but law-abiding gun owners can breathe two sighs of relief today thanks to the actions of two state legislatures.

passed its measure Thursday evening, sending it to the desk of Governor Ron .

When enacted, the legislation will make Florida America's 26th constitutional carry state.

As previously reported by American Liberty News, DeSantis has urged the legislature to approve the measure and has promised to sign it into law. At a press conference last December, DeSantis publicly confirmed the legislature's intent to pass a constitutional carry bill this year.

25 states have already enacted constitutional carry including , , Indiana, and Georgia which passed their bills last year. If signed into law by Governor DeSantis, Florida's constitutional carry legislation would be enacted on July 1st, 2023.

Another win for the pro- community comes from the unlikely state of Colorado.

Anti-gun radicals have been pushing for an assault weapons ban in the state this spring, and a Democratic strategist in the state said he doesn't expect the bill to come to fruition … at least for now.

  2. Hmm p “so-called assault weapons” sums the antis quite well. As long as they are ‘allowed’ to call them by that amorphous appellation they WILL continue to label any and all guns they don’t like, or are scared of to do so. That is why they refuse to actually define the term.

  3. Looks like all us Constitutionalists in Florida contacting the legislators – worked! Now, I have not heard whether this will also allow “open carry”; if not; we need to really hammer them & drive it home! Tom, one pissed off Marine, tired of these libdemscum abrogating our Constitution!

  4. Thank the Lord that I live in Florida, a state with government that remembers the Bill of Rights, and is resisting the blue state infection of communism, and no citizen rights.

  5. Thank you Ron for being on the right side of history! Could you please have a bill passed that would prevent any member of The View (cast and crew) arrested if they cross the Florida state line? Also follow-up by not allowing them to become residents of Florida.
