Air Marshalls Push Back on Biden’s Border Assignments as Terror Threat Looms

-

U.S. air marshalls are strongly criticizing President 's choice to send federal air marshalls to the border despite a renewed threat from the terror group Al Qaeda.

Air Marshal National Council Executive Director Sonya Labosco told Fox News that the emphasis on the border has left Americans in a vulnerable position.

“It looks absolutely insane,” Labosco told co-host Todd Piro. “We don't understand why these decisions are being made. The intel is clear. Al Qaeda is watching for our weak areas. Our aviation is a high-risk area. We're not protecting our aviation domain, and we're going to the border. It is absolutely madness.”

High-level Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sources reportedly told Judicial Review that “al Qaeda says upcoming attacks on U.S. possibly involving planes, will use new techniques and tactics.”

However, despite the Homeland Security warning Biden has instructed federal air marshalls to leave positions on commercial flights to take up new posts at the border. The order has received intense pushback from air marshalls, with some threatening to strike against the deployments.

“We do believe it's a violation,” Labosco said. “We do believe that DHS has overstepped their bounds. We are waiting for Congress to get sworn in, hopefully today, and we can get some movement here. We need someone to step in, in Congress, and stop the deployment of federal air marshals.”

Labosco expressed hope that the freshly sworn-in Congress will provide a much-needed injunction to halt Biden's order.

The Air Marshal National Council sent a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the weekend, calling out the administration for the policy since the has garnered little attention. The letter noted Mayorkas' comments expressing confidence in the border's security while dispelling claims the border is facing an “emergency.”

Labosco noted the American people have not forgotten the critical lessons learned following the devastating 9/11 attacks.

“I can tell you who hasn't forgotten, we haven't forgotten,” Labosco said. “The American people, the family and friends of those that died on 911, they haven't forgotten.”

“We're not we're not going to catch al Qaeda trying to grab an airplane down in El Paso,” she continued. “It's going to happen right here in a commercial airport, in a commercial aircraft.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a DHS spokesperson pushed back on the claim that flights are being left vulnerable.

“Federal Air Marshals have long supported various Departmental operations on a regular basis across Democratic and Republican administrations alike. There is nothing new or unique about this. They have been deployed to support the U.N. General Assembly, Operation Allies Welcome, hurricane recovery efforts, and CBP at the Southwest border. The last Administration in 2019 temporarily deployed some Federal Air Marshals to support CBP at the Southwest border.

“The suggestion that flights are being left unprotected is completely false. TSA takes its responsibility to secure the skies for the traveling public very seriously. We will continue to protect commercial flights through our multi-layered security processes, including through the Federal Air Marshal Service which supports this critical mission on the ground and onboard aircrafts,” the statement read.

  1. This movie by the spastic in the WH just shows how out of touch he is on problems in this country, and double unsure, incapable, and just plain insane on how to solve those problems affecting American society.

  2. Seems to me that Biden wants to leave us open to attacks both at the border and now in the air . Maybe it is time to impeach the DNC and Pres. Biden,

  3. There’s little doubt that any help on the border is badly needed but taking trained professionals out of their primary mission is NOT the answer. IOW you cannot solve one problem by pulling resources from one area and thereby creating yet another problem.
