Border Patrol Agent Dies in Line of Duty: Report

-

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in an early morning ATV accident on Wednesday in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.

According to The Washington Examiner, a spokesman for Customs and Border Protection confirmed the incident happened around 1 a.m. CST Wednesday while the agent was tracking a group of people suspected of crossing the border illegally

“A Border Patrol agent assigned to the McAllen Station patrolling the international boundary on an all-terrain vehicle was tracking a group of subjects that illegally crossed the border when he was involved in an accident near Mission, Texas,” CBP told the Washington Examiner. “He was found unresponsive by fellow agents, who immediately initiated life-saving efforts and requested EMS.”

“The death of an agent who died while securing our nation's border is a tremendous loss for our organization and our nation. Our prayers are with his family and co-workers during this difficult time,” Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.

A news release stated he was found unresponsive by his fellow agents who initiated life-saving efforts and requested EMS support.

The agent was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

  1. The headline in your email is misleading, Dies in the Line of Duty would be more appropriate (but less click bait)

  2. This only emphasis why AZ needed a RNC Gov. that would take steps to ensure this didn’t happen again – Hobbs is like Biden- “so what” is the attitude I get from either. We need a Gov. that would build a State Wall to stop this invasion. I have no doubt this was not an accident as usual and the agent was murdered.
