Tim Walz Caught In Yet Another Lie

First he got caught embellishing his military record, claiming a rank he never earned and implying he went to battle. Then he got caught lying about a DUI, that he claimed was the result of a misunderstanding with a state trooper as a result of service-related hearing loss, even though it was revealed that he was, in fact, drunk driving. Now, he’s been caught lying about receiving an award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.

When Walz first ran for Congress in Minnesota, he touted on his campaign website that he received an award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce in 1993 for his work with the business community, according to a 2006 article from the Post Bulletin. 

But the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce flatly denied these claims, and sent a letter to Walz firmly asking him to stop repeating the falsehood.

“We researched this matter and can confirm that you have not been the recipient of any award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce. I am not going to draw a conclusion about your intentions by including this line in your biography. However, we respectfully request that you remove any reference to our organization as it could be considered an endorsement of your candidacy. It should be pointed out, however, that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed your opponent, Congressman Gil Gutknecht, for his support of small business issues.”

As governor of Minnesota, Walz wasn’t exactly considered a friend of small business. He signed legislation that required small businesses to provide up to 20 weeks of paid leave for both part time and full time employees, financially devastating entrepreneurs across the state. The law also applied to seasonal and temporary employees.

In actuality, he received an award from the Nebraska Junior Chamber of Commerce. When the Harris-Walz campaign was questioned about it, they tried to spin it as him being “unscripted” and “telling it like it is.” 

“Governor Walz speaks the way real people speak – openly and off the cuff. The American people appreciate that Gov. Walz tells it like it is and doesn’t talk like a politician, and they appreciate the difference between someone who occasionally misspeaks and a pathological liar like Donald Trump.”

As much as the campaign tries to cover for his lies and portray them as “minor lapses in judgment,” the more the American people learn about him, the more he seems like the pathological liar they accuse Trump of being.

The Harris-Walz campaign is guilty of repeating and amplifying his fabrications about his service, and quietly changed his rank on the campaign website.

The “retired Command Sergeant Major” rank was promoted by the Harris campaign until earlier this month, when it changed Walz’s biography on the campaign’s website to read that he “served as a command sergeant major.”

Many Harris supporters have tried to minimize the seriousness of his claims and deflect by calling JD Vance’s service into question, but those efforts have mostly backfired.
