Dems Are Scared – Trump Is Beating Biden In 5 Of 6 Key States

-

ANALYSIS – The Donald will shake things up. Even as former President sits in a cold courtroom in Manhattan four days a week, and the stock market has gone up 25%, Trump's poll numbers keep rising.

They are up slightly nationally, but most significantly, they are up considerably in five of the six key battleground states that will likely decide the 2024 election. I referenced these in my earlier piece. But it is worthwhile going into more detail.

New polls show Donald Trump leading Joe in five crucial battleground states, as young and nonwhite, primarily black and Hispanic, voters express discontent over everything from the economy to the war in Gaza.

(NYT) notes that these polls show “a yearning for change” and the shift in young black and Hispanic voters “threaten to unravel the president's Democratic coalition.”

The NYT, Siena College and The Philadelphia Inquirer surveys found that Trump was ahead among registered voters in a head-to-head matchup against Biden in five of six key states: , Arizona, , and .

Biden led among registered voters in only one battleground state, . And this has Democrats scared. Very scared. Much more scared than Republicans.

The Hill reported that “66 percent of Democrats are extremely fearful of another Trump term in the White House,” according to the results from The recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs poll.

The Hill added:

Another 11 percent of Democrats said they were somewhat fearful, while 22 said they were not very or not at all fearful of a Trump win.

In contrast, about 49 percent of Republicans said they are scared of Biden being reelected. Eighteen percent said they are somewhat fearful, and 32 percent said they are not very or not fearful at all.

And Democrats are right to be afraid.

Meanwhile, The Times explains why:

The race was closer among likely voters. Mr. Trump led in five states as well, but Mr. Biden edged ahead in Michigan while trailing only narrowly in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. While Mr. Biden won all six of those states in 2020, victories in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin would be enough for him to win re-election, provided he won everywhere else he did four years ago.

The results were similar in a hypothetical matchup that included minor-party candidates and the independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who won an average of 10 percent of the vote across the six states and drew roughly equally from the two major-party candidates.

The Biden campaign has spent tens of millions of dollars in advertisements across the battleground states, but the polls show little indication that this has helped Biden or damaged Trump.

The findings reveal widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the economy among many voters.

“It is concerning to me when I keep seeing the press come out of the White House where they keep saying the economy is good,” said systems engineer Jacob Sprague, 32. “That's really weird because I'm paying more on and more on groceries and more on housing and more on fuel. So that doesn't feel good.”

The Times continues:

The [poll] findings reveal widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the country and serious doubts about Mr. Biden's ability to deliver major improvements to American life. A majority of voters still desire the return to normalcy promised by Mr. Biden in the last campaign, but voters in battleground states remain particularly anxious, unsettled and itching for change. Nearly 70 percent of voters say that the country's political and economic systems need major changes — or even to be torn down entirely.

Only a sliver of Mr. Biden's supporters — just 13 percent — believe that the president would bring major changes in his second term, while even many of those who dislike Mr. Trump grudgingly acknowledge that he would shake up an unsatisfying status quo.

So, it seems that America wants someone like Trump to really shake things up. Now, conservatives need to make that happen. Vote as early as you can in your state.
