The name Joe Biden appears in a 2017 email sent to his son Hunter discussing a lucrative business deal with China.
According to emails recovered from Hunter Biden's laptop, Louisiana-based lawyer Robert Fenet worked to help broker the multibillion-dollar deal, on behalf of Hunter and Joe's brother, Jim, to supply China with liquefied natural gas (LNG) exported from the U.S. Gulf Coast.
On Oct. 27, 2017, Fenet wrote that he arranged “a call from Joe Biden and Hunter Biden on Monday morning” with the Houston-based energy company Cheniere “to discuss the purchase of the 5 million tons of gas.”
The Washington Times has more on the developments, which may indicate a level of involvement by the president in his son's business ventures, something he maintains he wasn't privy to:
The news outlet acknowledged that while it's possible Mr. Fenet mistyped Joe instead of Jim, other emails and whistleblower testimony suggest Joe Biden was involved in Hunter Biden's business dealings, including with CEFC China Energy.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The email naming the future president doesn't mention the Chinese conglomerate. However, in an email one week earlier, Fenet told Jim Biden how to coordinate with Cheniere Energy in Houston to supply the People's Republic of China with millions of tons of LNG.
“We can begin supplying LNG in 2018 at the rate of three, four, five, or six million metric tons of LNG on a five-year basis,” Mr. Fenet wrote. “From year five until year twenty-five, we will have the capacity to supply 13 million metric tons per annum of LNG to the Port in China.”

The following month, Hunter Biden wrote to CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming, saying the deal would provide “large quantities of LNG at very competitive rates while also advancing the long-term goals of CEFC through a partnership or acquisition of a promising LNG terminal project in Louisiana.”
In the same letter, Hunter told Jianming that he looked forward to introducing him to the “Chairman of Cheniere.”
The revelations come at a perilous time for the White House. House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., was already demanding the administration explain how classified documents arrived at a home Hunter listed as his personal residence.
Did Hunter have access to these highly classified documents? Did he disclose their contents to business partners affiliated with hostile regimes?

We may soon have answers to these important questions. Especially since they have resurfaced now just as the aggressive new GOP-led house begins its investigations into the Bidens.
The timing could not be worse for Biden.
As the Post writes: “Long before the document bombshells, GOP leaders vowed to follow the millions upon millions of dollars that Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, Joe's brother, got abroad from selling access to Joe. Based on the contents of Hunter's laptop, it's certain that Joe benefited from foreign payments.”
As Rep. James Comer of Kentucky put it, “We're not investigating Hunter Biden. We're investigating Joe Biden.”

His daughter Kathleen owned the ranch where SoCal Gas was storing methane in a giant underground cavern. When it began leaking, Jerry, then governor, blocked efforts to require SoCal Gas to remove the gas and quit using the storage cavern.
