ANALYSIS – Even as the liberal establishment media goes full on as partisan Kamala Harris and Tim Walz surrogates, one prominent media outlet outright lied about former President Donald Trump and Israel.
This week, PBS “NewsHour” anchor Judy Woodruff reported that in an August 14 phone call, Trump urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to delay a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas until after the 2024 presidential election to benefit him politically.
If true, this would be explosive.
But it turns out this outrageous claim wasn't true at all, and both sides denied the conversation ever took place.
Meanwhile, Woodruff, who is clearly in a major Democrat bubble, caught a lot of flak for the bogus claims – most who pointed out that the unsourced rumors she was citing were proved false at least four days before she repeated them live on air.
So, now Woodruff posted an apology to X saying: “This was a mistake, and I apologize for it.”
But Woodruff passed the blame for the blunder by “clarifying” that she based the flimsy scoop on outside reporting she had read before broadcasting from the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on Monday.
“The reporting is that former President Trump is on the phone with the prime minister of Israel, urging him not to cut a deal right now, because it's believed that would help the Harris campaign,” Woodruff told a PBS roundtable.
Fox News reported:
She posted, “I want to clarify my remarks on the PBS News special on Monday night about the ongoing cease fire talks in the Middle East. As I said, this was not based on my original reporting; I was referring to reports I had read, in Axios and Reuters, about former President Trump having spoken to the Israeli Prime Minister. In the live TV moment, I repeated the story because I hadn't seen later reporting that both sides denied it.”
During a Monday night segment of the PBS News program, Woodruff stated, “The reporting is that former President Trump is on the phone with the Prime Minister of Israel, urging him not to cut a deal right now, because it's believed that would help the Harris campaign.”
However, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office denounced Woodruff's reporting, telling The Jerusalem Post this week that the anchor pushed “a complete lie.”
Netanyahu's office also released a statement denying Axios' report about a phone call between the prime minister and Trump about the Gaza hostage and cease-fire deal that the outlet claimed happened on Aug. 14. Axios updated the story last week to reflect Netanyahu's denial.
Trump has said he hasn't spoken to Netanyahu since July when they met at Mar-a-Lago.
At a press conference, Trump did say that during that meeting he had encouraged the prime minister to end the war, but he criticized the terms of the proposed cease-fire.
“He knows what he's doing, I did encourage him to get this over with,” Trump said.
“It has to get over with fast — get your victory and get it over with. It has to stop. The killing has to stop,” he added.

Intentional misreporting should be cause for immediate dismissal.
When an issue has been debunked it should never be repeated as fact ever again
by anyone including a sitting President or a reporter.
These lies must be stopped and won’t be unless there are repercussions.
And what will happen as as result? At CNN she’ll probably get an award.
I vacillate between PBS and Planned Parenthood as to which would make me happiest to see lose all taxpayer support.
The apology is an a major distortion. Anyone in the media who takes anything put out about a political candidate without checking the facts is a liar of a fool. Woodruff either knew it was false or did not want to know. A minute or two on the internet by an associate would have verified which. Look at what she said: “It is reported that …..” Sounds like her lawyer rote it to avoid liability. We will see what PBS does about it. Wait, was it their lawyer?
Woodruff can apologize until the cows come home. She is a liar and she is a partisan hack for a party full of liars. Woodruff has absolutely zero integrity. She needs to take a long look in her mirror and realize how hate filled of a liar she is. Have a little pride for yourself. Don’t just be a shill for democrats.
This woman should be fired. The only thing she is sorry for is getting called out on her lie. These people should be able to be sued along with whoever they work for. She is not ethical.
This is the leftist agenda. Put up a fake story in prime time and then recant after the fact when no one will see it or hear it.
The Marxist propaganda machine. Create a lie, make it big , repeat it often and soon it becomes the truth.

Absolutely no denying today’s mainstream news media is all-out on the Democratic Party, and especially Kamala Harris. To give a lesser-known example, I subscribed to Deadline Hollywood because they followed the trial of Hannah Marie Gutierrez Reed and Alexander Rae Baldwin III over the killing of Halyna Androsovych Hutchins in the “Rust” movie set here in New Mexico. Not only did they make up some aspects of the facts as they went along but were shamefully biased against Ms Gutierrez Reed and in favor of Baldwin. Who in my opinion, benefited from New Mexico corruption and literally and figuratively “got away with it”. He was quoted some time ago saying if he every shot a paparazzi (sic) it would all blow over. Who says fantasies don’t come true? But I digressed, Deadline Hollywood is unashamedly pro Kamala Harris. Every story about her reads like something a acting Fan Magazine would print about some cult actor or actress. The censorship and one-sided news media is totally depressing and reminds us that the people who call us fascists are the ones who practice just about all of their policies-including the lastest: anti-Semitism.
Trump should sue her. She lies all the time.
Who is dumb enough to watch CNN or believe Woodruff? They aren’t just “fake news” they are outright liars. They aren’t good liars they are just liars.
