ANALYSIS – Dishonorable veteran. I have been hitting Comrade Kamala's VP pick on his lies and bogus military record from the day he was announced as Harris' running mate. And the controversy over Tim Walz's National Guard Service hasn't gone away.
Instead, it is growing.
Some senior enlisted veterans who served with Walz are even calling him a “coward” and military “impersonator” for retiring to avoid deploying to Iraq and for false claims about his rank.
Newsweek reported: “Veterans who served with Minnesota Governor and Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz in the National Guard criticized him on Monday over his service.”
The outlet continues:
Appearing in a Monday interview with Megyn Kelly, four National Guard veterans who served alongside Walz, Tom Behrends, Paul Herr, Tom Schilling, and Rodney Tow, spoke on and criticized Walz for his previous statements on his service.
In the in-depth hour-long interview, when asked by Kelly about Walz's rank and “how does it make you feel,” Behrends took aim at the governor, calling him a “military impersonator.”
“You know this guy is a military impersonator with that…like you said he's a retired command sergeant major, he said it so many times that it just makes a person sick hearing. Yeah the state of Minnesota said he can say he served as a command sergeant major, which he has never said ‘I served as a command sergeant major', he blabs that he is a retired one,” Behrends said.
Herr then remarked that Walz is a “habitual liar” stating that “he lies about everything. He lies about stuff that doesn't even make sense.”
The Daily Mail explains more about Walz' fellow soldiers-turned-critics.
Retired Command Sergeant Major Tom Behrends, retired Brigade Sergeant Major Paul Herr, retired Sergeant First Class Tom Schilling, and retired National Guard veteran Rodney Tow, appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show to detail their criticisms of Walz and the exaggerations of his service record.
The group detailed their frustrations with Walz, particularly after he decided to retire shortly after he learned that the unit would be deployed to Iraq in 2005. All four of them were deployed to Iraq without him.
‘[H]e told me and other Sergeant Majors in the meetings that you can count on me, I will deploy with my unit. His words to my ears and others,' Herr said.
The four veterans spoke about men in their unit who lost their lives in Iraq, while Walz remained in the United States, using his military service for political gain.
Schilling, who was in the unit led by Walz, said: “He just quit and turned his back on us. I don't understand how he could do it morally, or where you have absolutely no integrity.”
The veterans also called out Walz for allowing others to describe him as a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military mission in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. Walz was deployed to Italy in 2003, but never served in either combat zone.
“You were in Italy … when you're sucking down a latte, and people are getting shot at, there's a big difference,” Herr said.
Referring back to Walz' lies about retiring as a Command Sergeant Major, Herr added: “He was literally a Sergeant Major, on paper, conditionally promoted for 14 days.”
‘This guy, he's a military impersonator…” Behrands added, “he said it so many times that it just makes a person sick.”

If Walz is confident that he is telling the truth, let us have him on the Megan Kelly Show along with the four of these fellow service men to debate the issues. This will be more telling than his debate with Vance where he can blatantly lie and get away with it.
