Donald Trump has recently announced a plan for government subsidized in vitro fertilization (IVF).
In an MSNBC panel, Joy Reid made the puzzling claim that Donald Trump was only pursuing the idea to try to “stay out of prison,” comparing him to Israel's prime minister and that he was outsourcing his policies to the Heritage Foundation and similar think tanks.

During a Friday panel discussion on Trump's latest comments on IVF, Reid argued voters need to look at Trump in the same vein as Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Both men are political figures navigating legal woes. Netanyahu was indicted in 2020 on charges of fraud, bribery, and more, and the case has dragged on for years as Netanyahu has delayed proceedings, citing his work leading Israel's war against the terror group Hamas.
“People need to start thinking about Donald Trump the way they think about Benjamin Netanyahu who is the equivalent of him in Israel, who will do whatever his far-right backers want, including killing a lot of people in Gaza, in unlimited numbers because he too is trying to stay out of prison. He too is in indicted and will do anything to stay in power, and he's allowed the religious far right to run that country.”
This is a particularly confusing claim, because Trump's support of IVF defied a faction of his party's most zealous pro-life activists, that adamantly oppose IVF, often from the religious point of view that life begins at conception and that creating embryos with the knowledge that some of them will likely be discarded is morally wrong.
She continued, “Trump has already made it clear — this man is not a policy wonk. He didn't do policy in his first term. He just let The Heritage Foundation and whoever the thinkers do what they what they wanted and he was like, ‘fine, do whatever what will make me popular, whatever you want, do it.' He is gonna let the Project 2025 people run everything, cause he doesn't know anything. He's what, 78 years old? He doesn't want to go to prison. He would spend the rest of his life in prison.”
This also bewildered viewers, as prominent Democrats have claimed that Project 2025 would effectively ban IVF. Trump has also repeatedly disavowed Project 2025, and had nothing to do with the creation of the document.
While Trump has been vocal about policy, his opponent has been hesitant to speak publicly about her platform, and has yet to formally layout her platform over a month into her campaign — unheard of for a presidential candidate nominated by either of the major political parties — and make Reid's accusations of a lack of “ideas” or “vision” from Trump even more difficult to take seriously.
Mediaite continued:
During a Michigan rally, Trump said that his policy in his second term would be for the government to pay for IVF treatments or for there to be a mandate that health insurance companies need to pay. The new position comes amidst a pushback against the treatments from some pro-life conservatives. Trump previously came out against a ruling in Alabama that would have effectively ended IVF. Evangelicals at the Southern Baptist Convention also voted in July to oppose the treatments.

Civilians in Gaza were left in there situation by Hamas, who has refused to enable an escape route for residents of Gaza, when it was impossible not to know that the area would be under Israeli attack due to the extreme hatred of the Hamas Nazis and their enablers which was exposed on Oct. 7. They are the ones to be blamed for any and all deaths or injuries in Gaza.
Joy Reid is not interested in anything that just happens to be factual unless it supports her twisted point of view. Her conclusions are rooted in bias only and to even attempt to give what she states any credibility, is pure nonsense. She only appeals to close minded, antisemites. Unfortunately, in today’s world, that represents a lot of people due to severely biased new media.
