At least five recruits with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office are in critical condition after a vehicle drove into them during the group’s morning jog. Twenty-two recruits were struck as the errant automobile drove down the street the wrong way.
The incident, which police are investigating as a possibly deliberate act, occurred at 6:30 a.m. Pacific Time in Whittier, California.
The driver is in police custody.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident was reported at 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Mills Avenue and Telegraph Road. The recruits attend the Sheriff’s Training Academy and Regional Services (STARS) Center located in the 11500 block of Colima Road, which is roughly a mile and a half from the crash site.
Whittier is located 20 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Authorities confirmed the driver underwent a sobriety test and was taken into custody. The results of the sobriety test are unknown.

A neighbor told FOX 11 that the recruits often jog in the area and run in packs wearing high-visibility vests.

Glad the suspect is in custody and was given breathalyzer test. Investigators should get search warrant for his residence, specifying electronic devices to include all cell phones and all electronic devices. Find out if any anti – law enforcement posts on devices. ( From former law enforcement officer).

There’s little chance it was an accident since he kept on driving. It’s my understanding he didn’t stop or even slow down until he rammed a telephone pole or buildinh…unless he had a seizure or some other medical condition.

s only my opinion of course this is the crap that's coming across our borders. A man recently stopped a hit-and -un driver with force. They were both incarcerated and the illegal was released. The man who stopped him is still in jail. Its time to pick up a gun and take care of business.
