All eyes are on this battleground state…
New reports indicate Republicans surpassed Democrats in registering new voters in Pennsylvania during the month of July.
Axios reported on Tuesday that Republicans added 19,127 new voters to their rolls in July, while Democrats added 17,495. For the year, Republicans are outpacing Democrats in new voter registration in Pennsylvania, leading 94,603 to 87,325, according to the state.
The gains for Republicans in Pennsylvania include the all-important Bucks County – to the northeast of Philadelphia – as the GOP is leading the Democrats in new voter registration for the first time in the county in 15 years, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It's a morale booster, it's something we've been targeting for years,” Bucks County GOP Chair Pat Poprik said.
However, Democrats still hold a lead over Republicans in total registered voters in Pennsylvania, with 3.9 million to the GOP's 3.5 million.
The Republican Party along with the Trump campaign have also made a concerted effort to push more Pennsylvania Republicans to embrace mail-in ballots and absentee voting.
On Monday, the Trump campaign launched SwampTheVoteUSA.com, which RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said “will make it faster, easier, and more secure than ever for patriots in the Keystone State to deliver their mail ballots for President Trump.”
“This is a crucial, cutting-edge development in our sophisticated ground game, which will help deliver President Trump back to the White House and save America,” Whatley added.
Trump is in a dead heat with Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average.
