A newly resurfaced 2019 candidate questionnaire has brought renewed attention to Vice President Kamala Harris’ shifting policy positions. According to the ACLU questionnaire, Harris, then serving as a U.S. senator from California, expressed support for ending all immigration detention and funding gender transitions for inmates.

CNN’s investigative reporter Andrew Kaczynski revealed his findings on the questionnaire, which can be read here, speaking to CNN host Erin Burnett.
“This was a questionnaire that she filled out for the ACLU, and this questionnaire is really an interesting snap shot in time of that 2019 Democratic primary,” Kaczynski stated. “Kamala Harris was trying to get to the left of Bernie Sanders. She was trying to get to the left of Elizabeth Warren and you really see that in a lot of these answers.”
“She said on immigration, she made this open ended pledge the end immigrant detention,” he continued. “She also supported it for federal prisoners. … she also pledged to slash immigration detention by 50 percent, close all family and private facilities and decreased funding for ICE, and then end ICE detainers with local law enforcement.”
In the form, Harris states that gender-transition “treatment is a medical necessity” and that she “will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment,” the form shows.
“Let’s take a look at her answer her on drugs,” Kaczynski told Burnett. “She got asked about this question from the ACLU was since drug use is better addressed as a public health issue through treatment and other programming, will you support the decriminalization at the federal level of all drug possession for personal use? And Harris answers, yes.”
“Now, what would that mean? Will it mean the federal – all drug possession that’s not just marijuana, which she alluded to in her answer to this question, but it also would mean fentanyl, crack, you know, cocaine,” Kaczynski continued.
Harris’ views appear to have shifted since becoming the Democratic nominee in place of President Joe Biden. The topic of her evolving stances has been raised multiple times, with some progressive supporters concerned about her movement toward the political center.
In an interview on Sunday, liberal Senator Bernie Sanders reassured progressives, suggesting that Harris’ shift is “just a ploy” to win the election, signaling that her core beliefs remain aligned with progressive ideals despite the more centrist rhetoric.

Debate Review
Yes, i did watch the debate if you can call it that, Harris avoided all the questions asked by moderators by saying i get back to that in a second, then totally avoided that question with no direct response, then going into other subject matters. She was well coached for sure, on exactly how to avoid those serious questions, of course she was not held accountable by the moderators for lack of question response. Hence, we still do not know where she stands on most issues. Trump was attacked very cleverly by Harris comments, supported then by other then Harris attacks but then topic change by the team of moderators. Believe Trump was cross checked by the moderators six times Harris never once, while trying to respond to Trump attacks, then instead of asking questions about issues, kept reviewing old Trump policies while he was if office before. Harris was not the only one to coached well, some one coached the moderators on subject reversal, as Trumps responses were in in mid-statement. Any how, the public finally got a look at Harris who used her fall back future response at least a dozen or more times about some future goal she can not honor as promised without Congress Court approval, but the basic theme was always to attack Trump and avoid all negative issues she has caused, on was part of….The winner of the debate was the American voting public, because Trump pointed out their corruption and lack of any serious planning to reduce the 35 trillion debt that still exists.
