MSNBC talking head Joy Ann Reid has resorted to 2016 tactics, likening Trump to Hitler with exaggerated and outright fabricated talking points about his immigration plan.
On her show, she said, “While Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are barnstorming the country, talking about what they call an opportunity economy and making things more affordable for Americans, including housing, food, and starting a business, Donald Trump has forced another issue into the center of the campaign, with a lot of hem from right-wing media including Fox, his running mate’s admitted lies, the internet and social media, and conspiracy theories cooked up by literal white supremacists. That issue is immigration.”
Harris and Walz have been notoriously hesitant and vague about their plans for the so-called “opportunity economy.” Outside of $20,000 handouts for first-time homebuyers, $5,000 handouts for business owners and Soviet era price gauging, they’ve offered very limited explanations about how they plan to bring down the cost of living.
Neither Trump, his supporters nor the media has needed to force immigration into the 2024 election cycle. Polls have shown that the only issues more important to voters than immigration are the economy/cost of living crisis and abortion.
Virtually every corner of the country has been touched by the Biden-Harris migration crisis. Cities, suburbs and towns across the nation have seen massive spikes in their migrant populations, and it’s reached a boiling point that even liberals are struggling to justify or even ignore. In deep blue Massachusetts, the government diverted funds away from schools to accommodate migrants.
Breitbart News reports:
About 150 Boston area school kids were told to find their own way to school, as the state of Massachusetts diverts funding for buses to be used for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s migrants.
The city of Boston also shut down an inner city community center primarily used by black children and teenagers to house migrants.
Per Breitbart News:
Roxbury’s Melnea A. Cass Recreational Community Center, which was once a meeting place for Little League ball players, volleyball games, and other sports and community events, has now been dedicated to rows of cots for illegal border crossers, CBS, WBZ-TV Boston reported.
Reid continued, “Donald Trump knows he can’t win the election based on the crappy job he did as president or his frankly crazy ideas for another administration, like spiking the cost of everything we buy through tariffs. So instead, he’s going with fear of immigrants.”
Trump’s tariffs did not raise the costs of goods for American consumers.
Reid went on, “A majority of voters say they trust Trump more when it comes to dealing with the border. A man who doesn’t know the difference between political asylum and an insane asylum and his plans to deport every immigrant would send our economy into a free fall because fear, whether real or irrational, can be an effective political tactic.”
On the contrary, if Trump enforced the law and deported those illegally present in the United States, Americans would see their wages rise, increased job opportunities, and a decrease in housing costs.
“The question now for America is, have we gotten to the point where we would destroy our own economy and walk willingly into a Hitlerian dictatorship because of the fear Donald Trump and his MAGA cronies are perpetuating solely for their own political benefit.”
There is nothing Hitlerian about enforcing existing immigration law, and Trump doesn’t need to “perpetuate fear” — the violent criminals infiltrating the country do that on their own.
