CNN’s Chris Wallace expressed sharp criticism of former Fox News colleague Tucker Carlson during a recent interview on Mediaite’s Press Club podcast, hosted by Aidan McLaughlin. Wallace used the opportunity to emphasize his belief that the media has a responsibility to avoid attention-seeking tactics.
Carlson, ousted from Fox News in 2023, has since launched a show on X and strengthened ties with radical figures like Alex Jones, whom Fox News executives remain weary of. Wallace, who left Fox News in 2021, pointed to the network’s coverage following the 2020 election as his reason for departing. Since then, Carlson has repeatedly criticized Wallace in interviews.
When asked about Carlson’s recent ventures, Wallace did not hold back.

“I think it’s amazing what people will do to find an audience,” Wallace remarked. “It’s sad when you try to be reasonably straight, and it doesn’t work out. Unfortunately, some people will do anything for fame, attention or notoriety.”
Wallace went on to highlight the ethical challenges in media today, questioning the lengths to which some broadcasters are willing to go to gain attention.
“It ultimately becomes a character test,” Wallace said. “Are you in this business to tell the truth and inform people, or are you just trying to attract eyeballs? There are many ways to grab attention—fire engines, nude photos—but at some point, you have to decide what your standards are.”
Wallace concluded by reiterating his commitment to traditional journalistic practices.

Wallace always was an ass and he’ll never change. Loser.
CHRIS WALLACE IS HATED EVEN MORE THAN PELOSI—ARE YOU JOKING???
HE IS THE REASON OUR COUNTRY IS IN THE TROUBLE IT IS—TO HELL WITH THAT FOOL
Sounds like Mike wants to put professional journalists and certain bloggers in same box holding them to the same tight standards. We have always appreciated those in the news business who presented the facts as best they could determine them without throwing in a good dose of spin at us as well. Unfortunately, those tight standards don’t seem to matter much as the vast majority of the MSM has traded their integrity, if they ever had any, for precisely their own, often radical opinions as dictated by the Democrat party puppeteers. That which Mike is accusing Tucker of doing is, in reality, a man who wishes to express his opinion according to his findings. One phrase that Tucker often uses to express himself is that honest editorial expression, “In my opinion”. That expression means “I have seen, I have heard, I have been told and I believe thus and such” without stating it as absolute fact, rather as information gleaned, more likely, from public chatter of which there is always some level of truth. If Mike wants to tear down someone for uttering unprofessional garbage in the name of journalism, especially when it has been repeatedly proven false, such as the horrid character assassinations so often spread nowadays he should consider going after the radio and TV networks and newsprint outlets that so often trowel out utter falsehoods and claim it as facts from sources they refuse to name. The White House and our own Congress is often among those sources. But to tear into someone like Tucker who wishes to express his opinion as food for thought, still open to debate is to stomp squarely upon the first amendment of our Constitution. Disagreeing with someones opinion does not justify calling for his removal from public view. Maybe Mike should perform an in-depth examination of his opinion and standards before he tosses it out all over the MSM as a sensational grab for headlines. But then, he does work for CNN. I guess I shouldn’t expect any less. But, that’s just my opinion.
I disagree wholeheartedly with Chris Wallace. His stated reason for departure from Fox News seemed a bit disingenuous. As I recall he was fired as most FOX viewers found his left leaning/Democrat sentiments annoying at least, and unfounded at best.
Tucker Carlson, on the other hand, was outrageously and unabashedly HONEST. A true Christian Conservative, family oriented, unpretentious, humorous and unafraid. He knew that he would have to tow “the company line” or he would be fired, more likely sooner than later.
Since he left FOX, I haven’t watched it very much although I do enjoy Jesse Walters, Mark Levin and Greg Gutfeld. I miss Judge Jeanine having her OWN show. I really miss the late, great Lou Dobbs! See you on the flip side Lou!
Stuart Varney, FOX Business is my first choice most mornings.
I do return to Tucker Carlson Network, every day. He is in my opinion the same person he was when at FOX, only better!
HIs refreshingly unbridled honesty, I believe has facilitated a wonderful coalition of like minded, brillantly intelligent, outspoken, Conservative and patriotic Americans, around President Trump;- ELON MUSK, RFK Jr., Tulsi, JD Vance, John Rich, Russel Brand, Roseanne Barr, Kid Rock, Larry Elder, Glenn Beck, Dan Bongino, Donals Trump Jr and Vivek Ramaswamy to name those that spring into my mind.
I am not Anti-FOX News. I realize that the leadership at the company may have different values and inspire a similarly unique culture.
I bear no nasty feelings towards Chris Wallace. I can respectfully disagree and wish him success and happiness.
Wait! Chris Wallace is criticizing Tucker…
because he’s more popular!
It’s easy Chris. We’d rather hear the truth,
instead of your corporate sanctioned conditioning!
Maybe if you grew a personality?
