Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.

Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.

READ TODAY’S PDB BELOW:

NATIONAL SECURITY

Is aiding Ukraine leaving the US military unprepared for war? U.S. Defense Department officials have been clear that the U.S. military is keeping a very close eye on its inventory to sustain its readiness.

HOMELAND SECURITY

ISIS operative in US plotted to assassinate George W. Bush, FBI alleges. The suspect allegedly traveled to Dallas in February to surveil Bush’s residence.

Gunman kills 19 children, 2 teachers at Texas elementary school. A teenage gunman murdered at least 19 children and two teachers after storming into a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, the latest bout of gun-fueled mass killing in the United States and the nation’s worst school shooting in nearly a decade.

Customs and Border Protection bulletin: American fighters headed to Ukraine questioned at US airports. U.S. officials, worried about domestic security issues, have been questioning Americans at airports as they travel to Ukraine to fight Russia, according to an intelligence bulletin reviewed by POLITICO.

CHINA THREAT

Biden insists China policy unchanged despite recent remarks. The president said that there was no change in the U.S. policy on Taiwan, a day after he pledged to militarily defend the island in the event of a Chinese invasion.

US speeds up reshaping of Taiwan’s defenses to deter China. The Biden administration is taking lessons from the war in Ukraine to turn Taiwan into a “porcupine” bristling with weapons to defend itself if attacked.

Trove of damning Xinjiang police files leaked as U.N. rights chief visits China. A cache of leaked documents detailing draconian surveillance and reeducation practices in Xinjiang has shed fresh light on the scale of Beijing’s multiyear crackdown on ethnic Uyghurs in the region and cast a shadow over a highly orchestrated six-day trip to China by the U.N. high commissioner for human rights, Michelle Bachelet.

Can America deter China’s anti-navy? China wants the United States out of the Western Pacific and particularly the South China Sea in any potential regional conflict. To do this, it has steadily built up an anti-navy capability.

RUSSIA THREAT

Russian troops plunge through Ukraine lines in Donbas as fighting enters decisive week. A month into Russia’s Donbas offensive, Moscow’s troops were still searching for a breakthrough. That may have finally arrived.

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 91. At least 22,000 residents were killed during three months of war in Mariupol, according to Petro Andriushchenko – a mayoral adviser. Russian forces launched four cruise missiles at Zaporizhzhia early Wednesday morning, with one shot down by Ukraine’s air defences, the region’s military administration reported.

Between front lines, Ukrainian reconnaissance teams hunt Russian targets. Battling a Russian offensive in Donbas, Kyiv’s forces—including its Carpathian Sich battalion comprising volunteers—gear up to strike back.

US intelligence document shows Russian naval blockade of Ukraine. World leaders call the Kremlin’s actions a deliberate attack on the global food supply chain.

NORTH KOREA THREAT

Seoul: North Korea launches 3 ballistic missiles toward sea. The launches were North Korea’s 17th round of missile firings this year.

US MILITARY AND SPACE

Marine Corps considers abandoning Parris Island amid rising extreme weather threats. The Marine Corps is considering moving some of its bases to other locations, including the iconic Parris Island Training Depot, in response to the growing effects of climate change, Navy officials said.

Space Force can only ‘mitigate’ China-Russia space cooperation. The China-Russia relationship in space has serious security implications as the tenuous allies unite financing and know-how in an effort to displace U.S. space superiority and threaten America’s space architecture, according to experts at a recent China Aerospace Studies Institute conference.

We have the weapons, we have the technology, but we don’t have the resolve. Haiti could beat us now, because Milley and Austin think teaching troops CRT is more important than preparedness The only smart one is the secretary of the nave who banned any mention of CRT in the navy.

If the US and NATO are short now after just a couple months of assisting poor Ukraine then they have mismanaged the trillions extorted from the taxpayers.

If US and NATO militaries are running short of munitions after just a few months of helping Ukraine, then they have completely mismanaged trillions!
