The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war powers resolution aimed at ending unauthorized U.S. military involvement in Iran, marking the most significant congressional challenge yet to President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict.

The measure, sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) invokes the 1973 War Powers Resolution and would require the administration to obtain explicit authorization from Congress before continuing hostilities against Iran, except in cases involving an imminent threat to the United States. The vote followed months of growing bipartisan concern over a conflict that began in.

A New York City mayoral candidate is waging war against billionaire businessman Elon Musk, accusing his social media platform X of censoring his political content.

Former assistant U.S. attorney Jim Walden is suing Musk’s X Corp. for engaging in “deceptive trade practices, in violation of New York law.”

“Twitter has only gotten more complicated for political candidates. Jim Walden sues X for shadowbanning him, the day after he tried baiting Elon Musk for some engagement,” reported PoliticoNY’s Jeff Coltin of the lawsuit in a post on X.

“The suit seeks injunctive relief to restore Walden’s account, after X “permanently suspended” it for pretextual reasons-in the midst of Walden’s surging campaign for Mayor of New York City. X has neither restored Walden’s account nor even responded to his demands to have it reactivated. X’s actions are preventing the Walden campaign from communicating with voters ahead of the NYC Mayoral election,” read the statement.

Walden announced his bid in late November to replace Mayor Eric Adams (D) and is currently seeking to be put on the ballot as an independent.

Walden’s statement further lays out his claims against X, writing, “Beginning on Friday, 12/27/2024, X suspended Walden’s personal account (@Jim Walden_Esq), and for the past two weeks, has not responded to numerous attempts by Jim and his campaign to appeal the suspension, or communicate with X’s support staff.”

The statement added:

Walden’s account has been unfairly suspended, as he has not broken any of X’s rules or terms of service. Since Elon Musk took over X in September 2024, the number of account suspensions has tripled, with users complaining of the same abusive behaviors, which include “shadow bans” by X against disfavored accounts to limit those users’ visibility and engagement.

This is not the first time that Jim Walden has sued X, formerly known as Twitter. In 2023, Walden represented a Saudi aid worker who was identified, captured, and tortured after Twitter divulged his identity to Saudi officials. This suit alleged that Twitter “abetted acts of murder, kidnapping, and torture” by improperly turning over users’ personal information to the regime.

Musk is also the co-leader of President-elect Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), an advisory panel focused on cutting spending and the size of the federal government.

Mayor Eric Adams was indicted by a federal grand jury in September and faces five charges, including bribery, soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals, wire fraud and conspiracy. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Seems strange that Adams never had a problem with the Feebies until he spoke out about what the illegal invaders were doing to his city and pubicly denounced the Biden administration for allowing the invasion of this country! Guess Joe doesn’t like anyone criticizing his policies no matter what party they belong to!

NO, the lawsuit claims X SUSPENDED his account. Shadow banning refers to limiting views of the account while maintaining the appearance the account is not limited.

Since Elon Musk took over X in September 2024
Also BS. Elon Musk completed his acquisition of Twitter in Oct 2022, and rebranded it as X In July 2023.
