In what is certain to enrage his lefty opponents, the majority of Americans appear to approve of President Donald Trump’s powerful early executive actions on issues from border security and deportations, to defining only two genders as well as the wholesale removal of government diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.
This also includes replacing government officials appointed by Joe Biden with Trump loyalists.
As the Daily Signal reports: “…early polling indicates the American public is reacting positively to Trump’s actions, according to a new survey by the Napolitan News Service released Friday.”
The Signal adds:
Trump reinstated his “Remain in Mexico” policy from his first term in a Day One executive order. The policy—reversed by the Biden administration in 2021, but now back in effect—requires asylum-seekers coming through Mexico to remain there until entering the United States for asylum hearings…
Sixty-five percent of voters prefer Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy, rather than former President Joe Biden’s catch-and-release program, with 23% supporting Biden’s approach, according to the poll…

In another Day One executive order, Trump declared the federal government recognizes just two sexes, male and female. The executive order does away with the previous administration’s language of “gender identity.”
According to the poll, voters approved of the president’s gender declaration 2-to-1 or 62% to 31%.
When asked whether Trump should be required to keep government agency officials appointed by Biden, less than a third or 28% agreed, while a whopping 56% said Trump should be allowed to appoint new officials who share his views.
The president also received high ratings for his inaugural address Monday. I personally considered his address spectacular. Especially compared to other major speeches he has previously given.
Out of 72% of respondents who watched some of it or just news highlights of the inaugural address, 65% rated the president’s speech as “excellent” or “good,” while another 17% rated it as “fair.”
Only a lowly 18% rated Trump’s address as less than fair or bad.
It’s not all good for Trump though.
As I advised earlier, perhaps Trump should not have pardoned those convicted of violence during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
According to Reuters-Ipsos poll, 58% of Americans said Trump should not pardon all people convicted of crimes related to their involvement in the riot, likely referring to the violent ones.
This was something Trump himself had suggested he wouldn’t do, his Vice President JD Vance pledged he wouldn’t do and top Republicans believed he wouldn’t do.
But the president did almost exactly that.

Meanwhile, according to this same poll, only 29% of Americans approve of how Trump is handling the politicization of the Justice Department, likely wary of Trump’s statements that he will seek “retribution” against his enemies once he became president again.
Sadly, on a key foreign policy focus of Trump in his first days as president, only 16% of those polled agreed that the U.S. should pressure Denmark into selling Greenland to the U.S., something I would definitely favor.
Trump’s comments saying the U.S. should retake control of the Panama Canal from Panama got better approval, but still a distinct minority, with some 29% of those polled agreeing with him.
Of course, I would be in favor of the U.S. regaining control of the canal, or at least ensuring it is secure from Chinese control.
But even in this poll, there was good news for Trump.
Some 58% of respondents agreed with a statement that the United States should “dramatically reduce the number of migrants allowed to claim asylum at the border,” signaling apparent support for Trump’s early immigration control efforts.
All in all, it appears Trump so far is seeing decent support for his initial actions from the American people, especially on the issues of border security and immigration enforcement, as well as gender science.
And those opposed are making only a little noise.
"Big League" for Trump. His approval rating is significantly higher at the start of his second term than at the start of his first.

Moreover, Trump's made history as the first president to be more popular at the start of his second term than at ANY point in his first term. pic.twitter.com/uMYKB6iZW9

President Trump isn’t there to make those who disagree with his America First policies happy. He’s there to make the majority of Americans who voted for him Happy! Enough kowtowing to the RINOs and the Left.
“This also includes replacing government officials appointed by Joe Biden with Trump loyalists.“
This kind of biased language has no place in a news report. Nor should you say the opposite. E.g.; This also includes replacing government officials who are Biden loyalists with people appointed by Donald Trump.
Funny you don’t want to pardon the J6ers but the Biden Administration pardon thousands of Illegal Alien Criminals or just plain criminals and that is OK. The J6’ers were invited into the capital by the capital police. They have been in prison long enough. Why don’t you check out some of the videos that show what really happened that day. Not the ones the fake news puts out. If they really did stage an insurrection want to explain why the committee deleted all the files. Sounds like they are the scuvey varmits of the party.
Yes there were some violent rioters on J6, but mainly the plants bussed in for that event. They need do to be reviewed and put back in jail.
Americans (mainly the Conservative Voters): Hello. With both President Trump and SECDEF Pete Hegseth on the same page to re-instate US Military personnel because bogusly fired by obiden for not getting the Covid shots, …to be re-instated with all back-pay, rank restored, allowances for subsistence and quarters back-paid up to date, retirement benefits…great. BUT: what about others so-fired by obiden: 1) all the Service Academies personnel; 2) police and firemen, 3) first responders, 4) medical personnel, 5) et al ? Those people need a process to identify themselves to the Trump Administration so to acquire a formal certificate of re-instatement to re-hire, so they could present to their former employer or other prospective employers to restore their lives with suitable employment to support themselves and their families. Thank you.
