A group of female Democratic lawmakers found themselves on the receiving end of online ridicule after a cringeworthy, “choose your fighter”-style video made the rounds on social media.
The clip, which was meant to be a lighthearted celebration of Women’s History Month, instead became a magnet for mockery—especially from conservatives who wasted no time piling on the criticism.
Set to the iconic Super Smash Bros. theme, the video featured several Democratic House Representatives striking exaggerated fighting game poses while their supposed “stats” popped up on screen. Rather than inspiring or energizing younger voters (as it seemingly intended), the stunt was widely dismissed as out-of-touch and painfully awkward.

Originally shared on TikTok by influencer Sulhee Jessica Woo, the video kicked off with Woo herself introducing her character. With animated angel wings behind her, she listed playful attributes like “bento box queen” and “mommy of the century.”
Then came the lawmakers. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) appeared next, with labels highlighting her district, her status as the youngest Latina elected to Congress and—unexpectedly—her love of Star Trek. Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.) followed, with a mix of serious and random traits, including her leadership in Black maternal health initiatives and an apparent dislike of balloons.
The lineup continued with House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), whose distinguishing trait was… not using hair dye. Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) was given the title “too sweet” while being recognized as the first Chinese-American woman in Congress. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) was described as a public defender, an attorney and “not a morning person.” And Rep. Susie Lee (D-Nev.) closed out the segment, touting her leadership in education initiatives—alongside the bizarre tidbit that she had two sprained fingers.
Despite its intended message of empowerment, the video quickly became internet fodder for ridicule.

The reaction was so brutal that even the White House’s own rapid response team couldn’t resist taking a swipe, posting on social media:
“Democrats Not Be Cringe Challenge. Level: Impossible.”
For a party that increasingly struggles with its messaging to younger voters, this viral misfire may not have been the power move they were hoping for.

Looks like they are constipated and trying to get something moving…?????
What a farce. May they lose their seats when they are up for election again.
