A recent viral TikTok video, featuring several Democratic congresswomen in a “choose your fighter” parody, has sparked a heated debate, with a CNN panel questioning its necessity in light of the country’s serious issues. The video, posted by social media influencer Jessica Woo, showed Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crockett, Lauren Underwood, Katherine Clark, Judy Chu, and Susie Lee jumping in fighting poses as if they were video game characters, accompanied by text highlighting their political accomplishments. While the video garnered significant attention, it was not without criticism, particularly from CNN anchor Abby Phillip.

On Thursday night, Phillip asked Rep. Marilyn Strickland, D-Wash., why such a video of that nature was necessary, especially considering the “serious stuff” happening in the country. “I don’t even know where to begin,” Phillip remarked, expressing confusion over the video’s purpose. “This seems to be just inviting ridicule,” she added.
Rep. Strickland defended the video, explaining that its lighthearted and creative nature aimed to reach new audiences, particularly younger voters on platforms like TikTok. “So, when you think about TikTok as a trend, we are trying to reach out to different people and different voters,” Strickland said. She pointed out that the video had a massive reach, with Woo having seven million followers. “Whether you think it’s cringe or you like it, we’re on CNN on a Thursday night, and we’re talking about it on national TV,” Strickland added, suggesting that the video’s viral nature was evidence of its success.
Despite Strickland’s defense, Phillip continued to question the video’s value, asking, “To what end? I don’t get it. I mean, maybe you will get seven million eyeballs, but, like, what is the point?” Republican commentator Scott Jennings also weighed in, offering advice to the Democratic Party. He described the video as “the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen” and suggested that, while social media engagement is important, it does not replace addressing the party’s policy failures. “Your party has a 21% approval rating right now, congressional Democrats,” Jennings remarked, urging Strickland to focus on policy rather than “gimmicks.”
Strickland, however, chose to shift the focus to President Donald Trump’s performance in office, accusing him of not doing enough for the American people. Jennings dismissed her claims, insisting that the numbers speak for themselves. “He’s beating you by 30 points. So my advice, my strong advice to you, fix the policy and leave the gimmicks behind,” said Jennings.
The White House has since responded with a video of their own.

What incredible stupidity. They all should be so embarrassed that they hide their silly faces.
THOSE FEMALES DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BE WOMEN. ITS SAD.
Borg propaganda.
These women have lost all sense of sanity. They obviously have not had professional training in the sporting art. However, it would be a hoot to change the music to YMCA and the caption, “Everybody’s doing The Don.
