A San Francisco-based drag queen group known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is at the center of renewed controversy as it prepares for its annual transgender Easter celebration. The event, provocatively titled “No Easter Without the T,” is intended to “honor transgender visibility” and has drawn sharp criticism from conservative circles and religious advocacy groups.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence describe themselves as an “order of queer and trans nuns” committed to promoting human rights, sexual diversity, and spiritual enlightenment through satire, performance art, and activism. Critics accuse the group of mocking Christianity and inappropriately involving children in a sexually charged atmosphere.
This year’s event features a children’s Easter egg hunt and a costume contest that invites participants to dress in drag interpretations of religious figures, including “Hunky Jesus” and “Foxy Mary.” Promotional materials for the event include imagery of a tattooed, muscular Jesus figure surrounded by drag performers—imagery that many found blasphemous.
Social media reactions exploded after Libs of TikTok, a popular conservative account, shared images from previous years’ contests and criticized the group for encouraging children’s attendance despite acknowledging that some parts of the show may be “inappropriate for young children.”
“They literally say that their show is inappropriate for children while still encouraging children to attend,” the account posted.
Past winners of the group’s Easter contests have included characters like “Barbie’s Ken Jesus,” “Historically Accurate Jesus,” “Transgender Maria de Guadalupe,” and “Pro-Choice Mary.”
Catholic Vote senior advisor Steve Cortes condemned the event, stating: “Disgusting. The ruling class abides bigotry, as long as it’s targeted against faithful Christians generally, & Catholics specifically.”
Logan Church, political director at CatholicVote, echoed these sentiments in a statement to Fox News Digital: “The so-called ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’ have made it their mission to mock Christianity with open hostility, and this blasphemous Easter event is just the latest example. This is not bold, it’s not brave, and it’s certainly not art. It’s bigotry dressed in costume. While we live in a country that defends free speech, that does not mean Christians are required to sit silently while our faith is ridiculed. We have every right, and every reason, to push back.”
The controversy surrounding the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence reflects broader tensions in American culture regarding religious freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, and the boundaries of public expression. The group has long been both celebrated and condemned, depending on the audience. In 2023, they were honored during LGBTQ+ Pride Night at Dodger Stadium, igniting national debate.

They need not worry about antagonizing Christians. We will pray for them. But, they might want to read Revelation as a warning about what ultimately happens to those who “take the mark”.
Totally unacceptable.
Now do Allah.
Blasphemous secular degenerative people corrupting society!
