FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said Thursday that the Bureau will release surveillance footage from the cell block in New York City’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) where Jeffrey Epstein was held, claiming the video will confirm Epstein was alone when he died.
Appearing on Fox & Friends, Bongino said the footage will be made public in both its raw form and an enhanced version. “You will see no one in there but him,” he told hosts Lawrence Jones, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade, aiming to put to rest the years of speculation surrounding Epstein’s 2019 death in federal custody.
The official ruling — suicide — has been widely questioned due to Epstein’s ties to high-profile figures in politics, business, and entertainment. Many have argued, despite a lack of direct evidence, that he was murdered to prevent damaging disclosures, citing the suspicious circumstances and negligence surrounding his death.

He began: “I’m just telling you what we see in the file. I want to be crystal clear on this. I am not asking anyone to believe me, I’m telling you what is there and what isn’t. There is nothing in the file at this point on the Epstein case – and there will be a disclosure on this coming shortly. There is video that is something the public –”
“Video of him killing himself?” co-host Lawrence Jones pressed.
Bongino replied: “Not the actual act, but the entire MCC bay, there was only one camera, there were other – there is video and when you look at the video, and we will release it, we’re working on cleaning it up to make sure you have an enhanced – and we will give the original so you don’t think there are any shenanigans – you will see no one in there but him. There’s just nobody there.”
Bongino’s remarks come amid renewed scrutiny from conservative media figures skeptical of the government’s narrative. In response, Bongino reaffirmed that the case remains open to new information. “The case is never truly closed,” he said. “If you have tips, I’m happy to see it.”
Bongino emphasized the lack of evidence pointing to foul play: no foreign DNA, no unidentified fingerprints, no relevant audio. His argument was clear — conspiracy theories persist, but the available facts have not changed.
The video release is intended to offer transparency, but whether it ends the speculation or intensifies it remains to be seen. Epstein’s death continues to stir public mistrust, especially given his connections with the global elite and the nature of the crimes he was accused of.
