Former first son Hunter Biden delivered a blunt and profanity-laced reply to First Lady Melania Trump after she threatened to sue him for $1 billion over defamatory comments.
During an interview on the Channel 5 YouTube show with Andrew Callaghan, Biden claimed that Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania to Donald Trump — a claim that Melania has consistently denied in her memoir and public statements.
According to Mediaite, Biden was asked about Melania Trump’s demand for a retraction. He reportedly smirked and replied, “F— that! That’s not going to happen.”
On Wednesday, Fox News Digital broke news of the letter, dated Aug. 6, in which Melania’s attorney Alejandro Brito demanded that Biden retract comments made in a YouTube interview with Channel 5’s Andrew Callaghan earlier this month.
Biden alleged during the interview that “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump.” The statements, Brito argued, have been “widely disseminated” online, causing “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”
Brito labeled the remark “false and defamatory,” demanding a public retraction or apology and warning that failure to comply would result in legal action. The statement follows prior incidents in which media figures — including The Daily Beast and Democratic strategist James Carville — retracted claims linking Melania Trump to Jeffrey Epstein after facing legal pressure.
Mediaite continues:
Brito’s letter accused Biden of relying on “serial fabulist Michael Wolff,” whose account was published, and later retracted, by The Daily Beast after lawyers for the First Lady disputed its accuracy. The outlet issued an apology and deleted the article, which had claimed Melania met Trump through a modelling agent tied to Epstein.
The timing of Biden’s comments, Brito said, per Fox News Digital, showed “actual malice,” accusing Biden of trading on others’ names “to draw attention to yourself.” The letter warns Biden not to destroy records and demands a “full and fair retraction” alongside a public apology.
Biden responded to Melania Trump’s attorney’s letter in a YouTube video posted Thursday morning by host Andrew Callaghan.
“The day of presidential litigation has arrived!” Callaghan said, holding up the written threat.
“We’re here, maybe, to give you the platform to apologize to the first lady for your statements about her possible connection to Jeffrey Epstein,” the host told Biden.
“F— that! That’s not going to happen,” Biden laughed.
Defending the legality of his comments, Biden continued:
“First of all is that, what I said was what I have heard and seen reported and written, primarily from Michael Wolff but also dating back all the way to 2019 when the New York Times – I think Annie Carney and and Maggie Haberman – reported that sources said that Jeffrey Epstein claimed to be the person to introduce Donald Trump to Melania at that time.”
Biden added that his primary source was hours of recorded interviews Michael Wolff conducted with Jeffrey Epstein.
Calling the demand a “distraction,” Biden continued:
So, you know, fact of the matter is that, you know, I don’t think that these threats of a lawsuit add up to anything other than a designed distraction because it’s not about who introduced whom to who. I don’t know how that in any way rises to the level of defamation to begin with.
But the fact of the matter is is that this is about hundreds if not over a thousand minors, children, who were raped by Jeffrey Epstein. And I don’t believe in guilt by association alone, but the connections that become – they’re so glaringly obvious that I think they’re trying to use other things to distract.

Biden reiterated that he would not yield to pressure or lawsuit threats, dismissing his opponents as “bullies” who believe “a billion dollars is going to scare me.” He ended by daring the president and first lady to testify under oath and “clarify the nature of their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”
