Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant who managed to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) in California, is now facing deportation after his reckless driving caused a tragic crash on Florida’s Turnpike that killed three people.
Singh entered the U.S. illegally in 2018. Despite that, he was able to get a CDL in California — a state known for its sanctuary policies and lax approach to immigration enforcement.
This week, Florida prosecutors charged Singh with vehicular homicide after he made an illegal U-turn on a busy freeway. The fatal maneuver led to a high-speed crash with a minivan, leaving three dead.
Disturbing video footage from the scene shows Singh and his passenger appearing alarmingly unfazed as the minivan slammed into his semi-truck.

After facing criminal charges in Florida, Singh faces certain deportation.
CBS12 in West Palm Beach reports:
“Three people lost their lives as a result of his recklessness, and countless friends and family members will experience the pain of their loss forever. Harjinder Singh is in custody on state vehicular homicide charges and immigration violations. He will no longer be able to damage and destroy the lives of Floridians and visitors,” Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Executive Director, Dave Kerner said.
Singh is currently being held on an ICE detainer. FHP said that once he’s done serving his time for the charges in Florida, he will be deported.
This case highlights a broader public safety concern: States like California continue to issue driver’s licenses to people in the country illegally, including CDLs for operating heavy commercial vehicles. That policy is now under renewed scrutiny.
The crash has reignited debate over the role sanctuary states play in undermining national immigration law and endangering public safety. Attorney General Pam Bondi has warned that federal funding to California could be on the line if Governor Gavin Newsom doesn’t reverse course on these policies.
The question now is: How many more tragedies will it take before safety and citizenship start to matter again?

Why not charge Gavin Newsom as an accessory to murder because he allowed the sanctury policies that lead to this person getting a CDL.
Why deported? So he can come back and do it again? Death Row for this criminal.
CA gift to the US see state regs on fri\uits & vegetables for other states FYI
I think that any legislation should come with a stipulation that any agency or individual who is responsible for issuing these licenses or anything else related to citizenship, should be equally responsible if something like this happens.
This illegal alien belongs in prison, not deported. Deporting him is not a punishment.
