Charlie Kirk has sadly lost his life.
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent conservative activist, lost his life shortly after being shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University earlier today.
According to conservative journalist John Solomon, Kirk was unable to survive the large amount of blood loss.
Initial reports from the university and multiple media outlets indicated that a suspect had been apprehended. UVU later corrected the record, stating the person detained was not the shooter.
Authorities confirm the gunman remains at large as the investigation continues.

Solomon’s scoop was later corroborated by multiple outlets, including Fox News and the Associated Press.
Charles James “Charlie” Kirk was born Oct. 14, 1993, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was raised in nearby Prospect Heights and graduated from Wheeling High School. Even as a teen, he was politically active — writing for Breitbart on liberal bias in textbooks, appearing on Fox Business, and volunteering in political campaigns.
In 2012, at just 18, Kirk founded the conservative student activism group Turning Point USA, with backing from GOP donor Foster Friess. The organization advocates conservative values — free markets, limited government, free speech — and has grown into a major youth movement with presence across high schools and college campuses.
He served as TPUSA’s CEO and later launched affiliate branches:
- Turning Point Action (advocacy/political arm)
- Turning Point Faith (religious mobilization)
- Turning Point Academy and Turning Point Endowment
He also served on the Council for National Policy, an influential conservative network.
Kirk also hosted The Charlie Kirk Show, a daily conservative talk program, which recently expanded into television with Charlie Kirk Today on TBN.
Kirk played active roles in Trump’s campaigns (2016, 2020, and 2024) including launching Students for Trump and the “You’re Being Brainwashed” campus tour, which went viral online.
Wednesday’s shooting incident drew widespread political attention and support — from President Trump, Vice President Vance, and others across party lines — amid renewed concerns over political violence.
News of his passing sparked an outpouring of swift and heartfelt reactions.
Charlie Kirk has passed away at the age of 31.
