Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is under fire after defending her use of incendiary language, including referring to President Donald Trump as a “wannabe Hitler,” in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
During a Friday appearance on The Breakfast Club, Crockett rejected the suggestion that left-wing rhetoric may have played a role in radicalizing the individual who fatally shot Kirk at Utah Valley University earlier this week. Kirk’s assassination, which law enforcement says involved bullet casings inscribed with anti-fascist slogans, has triggered a national debate over the consequences of extreme political language.
“Even if it came from someone on our side of the aisle, let’s assume the worst, OK, so let’s talk about it,” Crockett said during the interview. “Let’s talk about what radicalized him.”
Instead of accepting any responsibility for the environment of hostility, Crockett turned the conversation back to Trump, blaming him for creating what she called a “culture of political violence.”
“We’ve got to talk about like what it means when you’re running for president, or you’re running for one of these higher offices, and you go out there and you talk about beating people up, you go out there and you say things like, ‘I could shoot somebody in the middle of the street in New York and I could still win,,” she said. “Me disagreeing with you, me calling you, you know, ‘wannabe Hitler,’ all those things are like, not necessarily saying, ‘Go out and hurt somebody.’ But when you’re literally telling people at rallies, ‘Yeah, beat them up’ and that kind of stuff, you are promoting a culture of violence.”
Her comments sparked outrage from Republicans, and even drew concern from the White House.
White House Demands Clarification
White House Press Secretary Abigail Jackson responded to Crockett’s remarks in a statement to Fox News Digital:
“What on earth did Jasmine Crockett mean when she said she wasn’t ‘necessarily’ encouraging her supporters to hurt Republicans? It sure sounds like she’s justifying political violence. She needs to clarify this immediately.”
Jackson said it was “despicable” for Crockett to try to shift blame to President Trump for the murder of his longtime friend and ally, Charlie Kirk.
The Political Fallout
Charlie Kirk, 31, was gunned down on stage while answering a question about faith. The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, remains in federal custody. Initial investigations revealed that the shooter had posted anti-fascist and anti-conservative content online. Bullet casings recovered from the scene bore violent slogans associated with far-left activism.
Crockett Doubles Down
Crockett also used her radio interview to claim that most mass shootings are linked to white supremacy, appearing to minimize political violence from other ideological sources.
“It’s always some white supremacy kind of thing that’s going on. It’s not black folk that are going out there, it’s not immigrants that are going out there,” she said, despite mounting evidence of politically motivated attacks from a range of ideological backgrounds.
Critics Say the Left Must Reckon With Its Rhetoric
Crockett’s refusal to walk back her language — and her attempt to redirect blame — has fueled demands for a broader reckoning over political rhetoric, particularly from the left.
Conservative lawmakers argue that language like “fascist,” “white nationalist,” and “Hitler” has been irresponsibly used to dehumanize political opponents and may inspire unstable individuals to act violently.
As the country prepares for Charlie Kirk’s state funeral, which President Trump is expected to attend, the nation finds itself asking tough questions about the direction of its political discourse.
What’s Next
President Trump has pledged to posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Meanwhile, congressional Republicans are considering hearings into political violence and rhetorical extremism, with some even floating the idea of establishing new standards for elected officials who use incendiary language.
Whether or not Democrats like Rep. Crockett will moderate their tone in light of these events remains to be seen.

There must be a way to get rid of troublemaking individuals who happen to be in government postitions having been elected by an ignorant electorate. Crockett must be removed from office. It is precisely low class people like her with distasteful manners who foment radicalization among the vulnerable in our society. Another one is Ilhan Omar, AOC and Maxine Waters. These are the low class politicians who are not even smart. Let us get rid of these people in order to have a more decent society.
America demand the Removal of Tyrants democrats and liberals and progressives who Think they are Above the Law
This demented immature low class woman is the reason there are so much mental health problems today. The hate filled rhetoric constantly bombarding the uneducated and uninformed of our citizenry. Add the illegals let in by the “out to lunch” president they championed and you have dangerous elements loose in our country killing Americans. My observation over the past ten years is that the Democrat party has gone off the rails and into the gutter. They promote violence speech and actions. It is almost as though they hate America and her citizens and have lost any semblence of common sense. Now they are encouraging murder! For ten years Democrat leaders like Pelosi, Obama, Schummer, Schiff, Waters, etc have branded conservatives with labels like Hitler, Nazi, and worse. The newer Democrat element like AOC, the Squad, Crockett, etc have gotten even more offensive and disrespectful. AOC and company are socialists touting their socialist propaganda; a form of government that has failed time and again. Socialism never works for the poor and middle class. We don’t need that in America. If you want socialism move to China, Russia or any other communist nation, because, make no mistake, socialism is only a step away from communism.
There is no defense for the evil, vile rhetoric coming out of her big mouth. She should have had more soap in her mouth growing up and walks on her bottom to instill respect for her elders and authority. She thinks she is privileged and entitled, and everything about her clarifies this belief. What a waste of a human being!
