Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) is stepping up his criticism of President Donald Trump’s posture on the war in Ukraine, warning that history will not look kindly on inaction.
Bacon, a retired Air Force brigadier general who advanced quickly during the twilight of the Cold War, has consistently criticized what he views as Trump’s appeasement of Russian aggression.
In a past interview with 60 Minutes, the Omaha-area congressman said Trump’s tone seemed to placate Russian President Vladimir Putin while undermining NATO unity and U.S. credibility among allies.
With Russia battering Ukraine and testing NATO airspace, Bacon now warns that time is running out — and that history will judge the president harshly if he fails to act.
“It is Biden’s and Zelenskyy’s war” is so morally blind and factually wrong. Mr President, Putin is the one who is the invader. And, now this war is on your watch and you’ll be judged in the history books in the decades to come by your actions or lack thereof. pic.twitter.com/Y03DQ6Rswj

The Hill continues:
Bacon, who is not running for reelection and is a frequent critic of Trump’s stance on the war in Eastern Europe. Trump posted on Truth Social Saturday, reupping his call for NATO members to halt buying Russian oil, adding that he is “ready” to impose “major” sanctions on the Kremlin when NATO nations do the same.
“As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100 percent, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking! It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia,” the president wrote.
“Anyway, I am ready to ‘go’ when you are. Just say when? I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50 percent to 100 percent TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR,” Trump added.
Trump has said his patience with Putin is “wearing thin,” though critics argue his rhetoric still tilts toward Moscow.
The deadline for a Zelensky-Putin meeting has passed as Russia presses its military offensive, with the Kremlin confirming Friday that negotiations are now on “pause.”

And the HOG that is Bacon will be remembered for his RINO political life.
Another scumbag politician willing to do what harms America in a futile effort to become and even bigger scumbag politician. He thinks he has a shot at the White House, and he is willing to burn down the country to get there.
