The city government in Raleigh, North Carolina, isn’t letting the federal law stop them from using public resources to push Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In fact, the city’s Community Engagement Department is “a champion for DEI,” said Raleigh Assistant Director of Economic and Social Advancement, Briana Scurry.
Accuracy in Media’s undercover investigator recently visited City of Oaks and met with Scurry, who detailed their ongoing DEI efforts.
“We are certainly being strategic in the ways that we—we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves, number 1. Right?” Scurry asked on AIM’s hidden camera.
She added that they want to keep DEI work “as protected as possible.”
AIM President Adam Guillette then traveled to North Carolina to confront Scurry about her comments.
When she was asked about pushing DEI in defiance of the federal law and in a deceptive way, Scurry said “no comment” and rushed into her office, shutting the door.
Guillette tried to ask more questions through her shut door, but was ushered away by another apparent employee.
On his first day in office, President Donald Trump signed a federal executive order titled, “Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing.”
This mandated the end of DEI in the federal government.
But state entities could also find themselves in trouble if they rely on federal grants and funding and choose to defy such orders.
Clearly, even in traditionally red states like North Carolina, there are hotbeds for woke ideology that aren’t willing to stop pursuing their agendas.
