Russia collusion. Not only was the guy a despicable abuser and trafficker of often underaged women, but we also now learn that Jeffrey Epstein offered himself to Russia as an informant against President Trump ahead of his summit with Vladimir Putin in 2018 in Finland.
And he had candid conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the U.N. as well.
So, now we know Epstein was also a traitor.
While Democrats have been focusing on one email Epstein reportedly sent to himself and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, before his death, referencing Trump, and claiming in one that Trump knew of his sexual dealings, though he didn’t participate, the 20,000 Epstein documents released by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday show a far different picture.
This newly uncovered Epstein-Russia collusion should make anything Epstein said about Trump less than credible. It was obvious that Epstein had a major axe to grind against our president, after Trump cut him off in the mid-2000s, and would say anything to damage him, to the point of helping America’s enemies.
According to Mediaite:
In a June 24, 2018, message to Thorbjorn Jagland, then head of the Council of Europe, Epstein wrote: “I think you might suggest to putin that lavrov can get insight on talking to me,” referring to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Epstein also claimed to have discussed Trump with Vitaly Churkin, Moscow’s late ambassador to the UN.
“Churkin was great,” Epstein wrote. “He understood trump after our conversations.”
While the Epstein emails don’t appear to include messages from Trump or anyone purporting to speak on his behalf, The New York Times said, “Epstein cast himself as a Trump insider and wanted to leverage potentially damaging information about the president and his business dealings…”
This desire to damage Trump only grew after Epstein was indicted by Trump’s Justice Department in 2019.
NYT added about the Epstein emails:
By turns gossipy, scathing and scheming, the messages show influential people pressing Mr. Epstein for insight into Mr. Trump, and Mr. Epstein casting himself as the ultimate Trump translator, someone who knew him intimately and was “the one able to take him down.”
… The messages continue through the spring of 2019, when Mr. Trump was president and his Justice Department was building a criminal case against Mr. Epstein.
The messages hint that Mr. Epstein or his advisers believed they had inside — and potentially damaging — knowledge of Mr. Trump’s far-flung properties and business dealings.
Clearly this was part of an attempt by Epstein to somehow blackmail Trump to pressure him to drop the federal prosecution.
Meanwhile, Democrats keep trying to connect Trump to Epstein. In one post, they redacted the name of an alleged Epstein victim he attempts to connect to Trump, though that woman is clearly Virginia Giuffre, who killed herself in April, in Australia.
But Mediaite notes the House GOP’s response to the Democrats:
In the end, there is clearly very little implicating Trump in any wrongdoing, or even knowing about any, in this trove of emails. But what the Epstein email dump seems to show is that Russia collusion actually involved Epstein trying to smear Trump to Russia to save his own depraved behind.
