Hollywood director Brett Ratner — best known for blockbuster films like “Rush Hour” and as director of the documentary “Melania” — appears in newly released photos from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Jeffrey Epstein files.
The images were part of the massive document release mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act and are among the millions of pages, images, and videos published by the DOJ.

Among the photos, Ratner is shown posing with Jeffrey Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent and longtime Epstein associate who was accused of significant sexual offenses and died by suicide in prison in 2022.
The images were released amid the larger DOJ disclosure of more than 3 million pages of documents, photos, and videos relating to Epstein’s activities and social circles.
While the photos place Ratner in Epstein’s orbit at some point, there are no allegations or charges against him in connection with Epstein’s crimes. Legal authorities and news outlets emphasize that appearing in the Epstein files does not imply criminal conduct.
The New York Post continues:
The “Rush Hour” director is on the far left end of a couch, clad in a white shirt and denim jeans, embracing a woman who was seated next to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
A second woman is present, sitting at the far right end of the sofa.
…
Ratner was pictured in a previous Epstein dump posing with a shirtless Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent who died by suicide in his jail cell in 2022.
Brunel was charged with raping a child.
“Melania” marks Ratner’s first major feature film since multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct in 2017.
The release of the Epstein files has reignited controversy, with victims’ advocates criticizing redactions that obscured identities and lawmakers renewing calls for greater transparency when powerful figures are involved.
The Justice Department released millions of pages of documents Friday, but officials said roughly half of the estimated 6 million pages will remain sealed because they contain child pornography, privileged or deliberative material, duplicative records, or information deemed unrelated to the case.
