A coalition of pro-life groups have asked the Trump administration to stop mass mailing abortion pills into pro-life states.
“Led by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, 78 pro-life groups sent a letter to acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche urging the Department of Justice to stop siding with the abortion drug industry against pro-life states,” SBA Pro-Life America reports.
“Louisiana, Florida and Texas, and Missouri, Idaho and Kansas sued the FDA in three separate cases to protect their citizens from the harms of abortion drugs and to stop policies that undermine their state laws, and the DOJ previously moved to dismiss all three cases,” SBA Pro-Life America adds.
In October 2025, the Trump administration approved the sale of cheaper abortion pills.
The letter reads in part:
Louisiana is joined in its lawsuit by Rosalie Markezich, a young woman pressured into abortion by her boyfriend, who ordered the drugs online. She said: “If mail-order abortion wasn’t a thing, I’m 100% sure I would have my child…. I do not believe a doctor would have prescribed me the drugs if I told her I did not want them.’
When abortion drugs are available through the mail, there is no accountability, state laws are made impotent, and women and girls are hurt. This is a harmful and politically dangerous path. We urge you to stop siding with the abortion industry and stand with pro-life states and brave women like Rosalie.
“A recent report from a pro-abortion group claims there were over 1.1 million abortions in the U.S. in 2025, with a 26% increase of mail-order drug abortions in states with pro-life laws,” SBA Pro-Life America notes.
“The DOJ has the opportunity to stand with states seeking to uphold their laws and protect women and unborn children from the dangers of unregulated abortion drugs by mail. Instead, the DOJ is actively siding with the abortion industry and trying to wave away states’ valid claims – including the case brought by survivor Rosalie Markezich, whose ex-boyfriend ordered the drugs online from California and pushed her to take them against her will. Despite the DOJ’s claims, the federal court just ruled that both Rosalie and the state of Louisiana are clearly harmed by Biden’s reckless COVID-era mail-order abortion drug policy and have every right to seek recourse,” SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser states.
“There’s no justice in turning a blind eye to women like Rosalie and their children, enabling their abusers through the FDA’s reckless Biden-era COVID policy that remains inexplicably in place. The DOJ and FDA have the authority and the duty to act immediately. Voters across the board strongly support it and the GOP base demands it,” Dannenfelser adds.
“Diverse polls consistently find Americans strongly oppose mail-order abortion drugs and want to reinstate in-person medical evaluations, including majorities of Independents, Democrats and liberal voters, and are less likely to support elected representatives who back them,” SBA Pro-Life America notes.

For the better part of a decade, the phrase “deep state” was treated not as a false claim but as a confused one, a category mistake on the order of asking what color Tuesday is. The serious people assured us there was no such thing. There were only career civil servants, neutral as referees, executing the law without fear or favor. To suggest otherwise was to reveal that one did not understand how government works. The interesting thing about 2025 is not that conservatives kept making the claim. The interesting thing is that the people best positioned.
