Texas Parole Supervisor Fired After Social Media Posts Supporting Convicted Killer Karmelo Anthony

A Texas parole supervisor has reportedly been fired after social media posts surfaced in which she expressed support for convicted murderer Karmelo Anthony while dismissing the death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.

Donna Robinson, who worked as a parole supervisor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), lost her position after her comments circulated online, according to reports from Fox News and the Dallas Morning News.

Screenshots shared on social media showed Robinson identifying herself as a TDCJ parole supervisor while discussing Anthony’s future in prison.

“I am a Parole Supervisor at TX DCJ. Karmelo will ok,” one post reportedly read. In another, Robinson allegedly wrote, “I can almost assure you he will be protected on the inside. I for one don’t give fk about the family’s loss. It’s about time these fkng bigots feel the pain that they have inflicted on other groups of people since the beginning of time!”

The comments quickly sparked outrage online, particularly given Robinson’s role within the state’s criminal justice system.

Anthony was convicted of murder last week for the fatal stabbing of Frisco Memorial High School student Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in April 2025. A Collin County jury sentenced Anthony to 35 years in prison after rejecting arguments that he acted in self-defense.

The case attracted national attention and became the subject of intense public debate. Prosecutors argued that Anthony escalated a verbal dispute into a deadly confrontation after repeatedly refusing requests to leave another school’s tent during a rain-delayed track meet.

Multiple student witnesses testified that Anthony had been asked numerous times to leave the area and that he appeared to be provoking a confrontation.

Anthony immediately fled the scene. According to testimony presented at trial, he later admitted to police officers that he had committed the stabbing.

“I’m not alleged, I did it,” Anthony reportedly told officers.

Metcalf died from his injuries after collapsing in the arms of his twin brother, Hunter.

The case continued to generate controversy after Anthony’s conviction, with some supporters arguing that the sentence was excessive and questioning jury selection.

Anthony’s attorneys have filed notice of an appeal, though the convicted killer reportedly told the court that he lacks the financial resources to hire appellate counsel despite his family’s crowdfunding efforts raising more than $625,000.

The firing of Robinson adds another chapter to the highly publicized case, which has exposed deep divisions among supporters and critics of Anthony. Critics argued that a parole official publicly expressing sympathy for a convicted murderer while showing contempt for a victim’s family undermined public confidence in the justice system.
