Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit seeking what he calls an independent review of the files the FBI seized from Mar-a-Lago.
Lawyers for the former president teased the possibility of major legal action in recent days.
The lawsuit is titled Trump v. United States Government.
The introduction starts off as follows, “Politics cannot be allowed to impact the administration of justice. President Donald J. Trump is the clear frontrunner in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary and in the 2024 General Election, should he decide to run.”
It proceeds to say that the FBI should have considered that executing a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago would have distressed his supporters, who Trump says are “most” Americans.

In a 21-page motion that echoes much of the former president’s claims that the search was politically motivated, Trump’s attorneys ask for outside oversight to ensure the materials seized from his home do not include items they argue could be protected by executive privilege.
The suit asks for the court to enjoin the FBI from reviewing the evidence it has collected until a special master is appointed.
“It is unreasonable to allow the prosecutorial team to review them without meaningful safeguards,” Trump’s attorneys write.
“Short of returning the seized items to the movant, only a neutral review by a special master can protect the ‘great public interest’ in preserving ‘the confidentiality of conversations that take place in the president’s performance of his official duties.’”
Violent rhetoric has risen dramatically against federal law enforcement officers in recent days, leading to pleas from allies of the former president and Fox News hosts like Steve Doocy to call on Trump to tamp down on inflammatory statements against the FBI because “the FBI was simply doing what the DOJ asked them to do.”
Two weeks ago, Ricky Walter Shiffer, who was at the Capitol on Jan. 6, attempted to breach an FBI office in Cincinnati with an AR-15 and a nail gun.
Shiffer was later killed when he aimed his gun at Ohio State Police.

WHY haven’t Trump’s lawyers filed suit to block the entire group of documents based on the fact that the warrant is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, in that it was a general search warrant? A warrant is supposed to list specific items being searched for, which is totally absent from the document.

Just one guy with a nail gun and the Justice Dept claims it’s an insurrection of Trump supporters. Whatever happened to the FBI investigation into those responsible for burning down cities and businesses in 2020? Oh, right…..there was no FBI investigation. Probably because many of the activists in ANTIFA and BLM are FBI stringers or informants.
Well, I’m not holding my breath. We’ve been down this road 5 or 6 times seeking justice where no court will hear it. Trumps team has all of the evidence needed to break this whole thing up. If only an honest court would hear it. The evidence is what they were looking to secure at mara lago, as well as Rudy’s offices a couple of years ago. I think that the big ugly Demo giant just has crept too far into the roots of our nation. I pray for better outcome than I suspect will be. However, I do believe that we all walked into this thing ten years ago, expecting that everyone was playing by the same set of rules. Well, we were all naive. (so was DJT, however, I don’t blame him for that). But we are all much more informed now, and won’t fall for it again. The only thing that creates a risk now is how much more clever they can be at manipulating the truth. Sorry, I am skeptical at this point. Not finished, Pelosi and company together with Christopher Wray’s FBI orchestrated January 6th Capitol bldg riot. Pelosi and Schiff then set up the Jan 6th Congressional Committee to pin it on Trump. They and the Just Us Dept. have done everything they can to brand Trump’s supporters “domestic terrorists”!! So where do we go from here? We must ensure the November 8th election is free and fair. No lockdowns or absentee ballot mules. No Hammer and Smartmatic electronic voter fraud. And nothing less than100% Transparency counting the votes. Why is it that all references to escalating violence against the FBI only refer to one individual and one incident from Ohio? If threats and violence were escalating, wouldn’t there be more than one perpetrator? The illegal raid on mar-a-lago was an FBI “ heist” cleared by Garland. There must have been documents relating to obama’s Crossfire hurricane that he doesn’t want exposed.
