Is Donald Trump getting nervous about his potential success if he ultimately runs for president in 2024? According to the results of these two new polls, he should be.
For months Trump has repeatedly hinted at launching another presidential campaign, likely teeing up a rematch against Democrat President Joe Biden. While Trump has yet to make any formal announcement, doing so would force him to adhere to strict campaign finance laws he’s made his interest crystal clear.
However, a recent poll from Emerson College shows that Biden still maintains a slight lead over his predecessor, a sign of trouble on the horizon.
The Hill reports:
The results showed Biden with 43 percent of the vote to Trump’s 42 percent, with 8 percent planning to vote for someone else and 6 percent undecided. Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling, said in the announcement of the results that this is the first Emerson poll this year in which Biden leads Trump in such a match-up.
Compared to Emerson’s poll on the head-to-head last month, Biden improved by 2 points and Trump fell two.
The poll found voters are closely divided over whether the FBI’s search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property earlier this month for presidential records, including some classified and sensitive documents, made them more or less likely to support him. Thirty-six percent of respondents said they were less likely to support him, 30 percent said they were more likely and 34 percent said the search has no effect on their opinion.
Biden’s approval rating in the poll rose 2 points to 42 percent, while his disapproval rating dropped 2 points to 51 percent. Republicans kept the one-point lead in the generic congressional ballot that they had in last month’s poll, leading 45 percent to 44 percent.
Respondents were also split on Biden’s recent decision to forgive up to $10,000 in student loan debt for borrowers making less than $125,000 per year. Throughout Biden’s 2020 campaign he pledged to address student loan forgiveness but some progressives say the administration hasn’t appropriately focused on the issue. The Emerson poll reported that 36 percent of respondents said Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan goes too far, 35 percent said it is the right amount of action, and 28 percent said it does not go far enough.
Half of all respondents listed the economy as their most important issue, while abortion and health care each tied for second.
While Biden maintains a slight edge over Trump according to the Emerson College poll there is another survey that concerns Trump’s potential success in 2024.
The latest YouGov poll reports that in a hypothetical 2024 match-up Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) stands a better chance of defeating Joe Biden as opposed to Donald Trump. (Related: Florida Politician Teases 2024 White House Run – And It’s Not DeSantis)
According to a report from The Hill:
If the next presidential election comes down to a choice between Biden or Trump, the incumbent comes out on top at 39 percent to 36 percent. But pitted against DeSantis, Biden would end up in a closer race.
In that scenario, 36 percent said they would support Biden, while 35 percent would back the Florida governor.
Only 28 percent of respondents said that Trump should mount another bid for the White House, compared to 54 percent who said that he shouldn’t. When it comes to another Biden campaign, only 21 percent said that he should run for a second term, while 55 percent said that he shouldn’t.
The poll points to DeSantis’ growing national profile and his ever-growing popularity which also shows how the Republican Party is slowly moving away from Trump.

If you believe these polls, then you probably also believe that Biden got 81 million actual votes. Don’t give into the lies that the main stream media pushes around to each other. If you get discouraged on Trump because of the info they are putting out, then you are letting them win. We have got some of the most crooked politicians and they will do anything to keep Trump out so they can pass our hard earn tax money around till it gets back into their pockets. Just remember all the good things that Trump did as president. He is a tough and good man!

As someone that voted for Trump in both of his elections, I must say that if Trump is the GOP standard bearer in 2024, they will lose not only that race, but their chance this November to win the majority in either or both the house and senate.There is just too much hate all things Trump across this country, and it runs deep. for him to ever win.

Rasmussen polling still shows Trump with a substantial lead over Biden. Emerson’s polling is an outlier and unreliable. Trump also outpolls De Santis by a wide margin.
