Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

While the Biden administration continues to tout its success in forgiving up to $10,000 in student loans per borrower, not all Democrats are ready to celebrate.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” former Clinton administration adviser, Paul Begala opposed the administration’s plan and questioned if it really does as much “good” as progressives claim.

The Daily Wire reports:

“For that amount of money, you could fund free pre-K for every three- and four-year-old for 10 years,” Begala explained. “You would do a lot more good for poor people, communities of color, and the underprivileged by doing pre-K. You could forgive all medical debt, which, unlike student debt, is not freely entered into.”

“So what is my party doing with this? They’re disadvantaging — I think they’re not helping the people that we’re here to help, which is [sic] poor people and underprivileged communities,” Begala continued. “And they’re not helping their politicians who are running.”

Last week, President Biden announced up to $10,000 in loans would be forgiven per borrower making less than $125,000 annually. (RELATED: Biden Canceling Student Loans Saves Me Thousands. It’s Still a Terrible Idea)

It’s not only Begala who has questioned the administration’s student loan plan other Democrats have been careful to distance themselves from the radical move.

Following the announcement, Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) released a statement saying Biden’s move “really does send the wrong message” to hardworking Americans.

“As someone who’s paying off my own family’s student loans, I know the costs of higher education are too high,” Ryan remarked in a statement. “And while there’s no doubt that a college education should be about opening opportunities, waiving debt for those already on a trajectory to financial security sends the wrong message to the millions of Ohioans without a degree working just as hard to make ends meet.”

Likewise, New Hampshire candidate Chris Pappas also said the administration should have followed the legislative process and should not cost taxpayers. The administration has carefully tiptoed around questions regarding who will be saddled with the burden of paying for the multi-billion dollar plan.

“We all know the cost of higher education is crushing families … but this announcement by President Biden is no way to make policy and sidesteps Congress and our oversight and fiscal responsibilities,” Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.), who is running to keep his seat in the House of Representatives, said in a statement. “Any plan to address student debt should go through the legislative process, and it should be more targeted and paid for so it doesn’t add to the deficit.”

Some Democrat economists have also raised eyebrows at Biden’s plan. Jason Furman, who served as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers during the Obama administration compared the plan to pouring gasoline on a fire.

“Pouring roughly half trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning is reckless,” Furman reasoned.

Lawrence Summers, who worked as Treasury Secretary and National Economic Council director under the Obama and Clinton administrations, said that the same money should have been allocated to help a wider pool of Americans, not just those that pursued higher education.

“Every dollar spent on student loan relief is a dollar that could have gone to support those who don’t get the opportunity to go to college,” Summers explained. “Student loan debt relief is spending that raises demand and increases inflation. It consumes resources that could be better used helping those who did not, for whatever reason, have the chance to attend college. It will also tend to be inflationary by raising tuitions.”

Yeah, just think what kind of little commies they could make out of kids if they had 2 full years of pre-K! How many of them would still be the same sex they were born as? How many would think America was founded in 1619? How many would think they were oppressed, if they were black and oppressors, if they were white? You can bet if the democrats could have your kids for 2 years anytime before they graduate high school, they would do their best to make them forget anything you taught them, about religion, family values, where they came from, their ancestors, and especially anything you have taught them or they have learned about how great America is. Oh, yeah, much better idea than Biden blowing another 3 billion dollars.
