The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war powers resolution aimed at ending unauthorized U.S. military involvement in Iran, marking the most significant congressional challenge yet to President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict.

The measure, sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) invokes the 1973 War Powers Resolution and would require the administration to obtain explicit authorization from Congress before continuing hostilities against Iran, except in cases involving an imminent threat to the United States. The vote followed months of growing bipartisan concern over a conflict that began in.

Former President Donald Trump lost his temper on Supreme Court justices — three of whom he nominated to the bench — after they ruled he must turn his tax records over to Congress.

Trump, who recently announced his third presidential campaign, lamented the decision in a late-night TRUTH Social posting rampage.

“Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do!” The ex-president bemoaned. “It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents. Has Joe Biden paid taxes on all of the money he made illegally from Hunter & beyond. The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!”

Trump also had a second post where he harped about his 2020 election loss again with more complaints about the Supreme Court.

“In the Supreme Court, the President of the United States does not have ‘standing’ over his own election, how ridiculous?”

House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., released a statement following the Supreme Court’s decision.

“We knew the strength of our case, we stayed the course, followed the advice of counsel, and finally, our case has been affirmed by the highest court in the land. Since the Magna Carta, the principle of oversight has been upheld, and today is no different. This rises above politics, and the Committee will now conduct the oversight that we’ve sought for the last three and a half years,” Rep. Neal said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., also responded to the Supreme Court’s decision not to intervene in the tax records battle.

“Today’s Supreme Court ruling upholds our Democracy, the rule of law and the Congress’ ability to execute its legislative and oversight responsibilities.  Now, the Congress must enact legislation requiring Presidents and candidates for President to disclose their tax returns,” Pelosi said in a statement released by her office.

“The Supreme Court’s commonsense decision will allow the IRS to comply with federal law and deliver the former President’s tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee.  These documents are vital to meeting the House’s Constitutional mandate: guarding the public interest, defending our national security and holding our public officials to account,” she continued.

“The House looks forward to promptly receiving and reviewing these documents, and we extend our deepest thanks to Chairman Richard Neal for his deliberate, principled leadership in the fight to advance ethical, transparent governance For The People,” Pelosi concluded.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court rejected an emergency appeal from former President Donald Trump that sought to shield his tax records from Congress.

The order, which had no noted dissents, concludes a multi-year legal battle by Democrats to obtain the records.

Last month, the former President filed the emergency appeal after a lower court declined to reverse its ruling mandating that he turn over the records to the House Ways and Means Committee. The Committee has argued the records are critical to its probe of how the IRS conducts its presidential audits, but Trump and his attorneys have asserted the effort is merely a political stunt meant to jeopardize Trump and his businesses.

“The Committee’s purpose in requesting President Trump’s tax returns has nothing to do with funding or staffing issues at the IRS and everything to do with releasing the President’s tax information to the public,” Trump’s attorneys wrote to the court in October.

Tax records are not a requirement for running for or being the President or anything else except for some lending requirements, and divorce courts for establishing alimony or child support. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT does not have any entitlement or legal right to your tax records.
