Following a congressional request and demands from users, new Twitter CEO Elon Musk hinted he will release internal documents on how the platform suppressed news stories on Hunter Biden’s laptop in an apparent bid to assist Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Responding to a tweet asking if Musk should release all of Twitter’s internal discussions on suppressing posts discussing the story, Musk replied “This is necessary to restore public trust.”
Twitter was widely criticized for censoring posts and even suspending users who discussed public news reports that Joe Biden’s adult son Hunter Biden was engaged in unethical and possibly illegal business deals and personal behavior, all documented in a laptop computer abandoned in a Delaware repair shop by Hunter Biden.
The FBI and mainstream media outlets speculated without evidence the stories were “planted by Russians,” claims that were later easily debunked.
Efforts by social media platforms, mainstream media outlets and even the FBI to claim the laptop was planted by Russian agents, and to suppress and censor reports on it, were widely criticized as transparent attempts to assist Biden’s campaign.
Musk has previously called Twitter’s handling of the Hunter Biden issue, which predates his takeover of the company, “incredibly inappropriate.”
The incoming Republican majority in the U.S. House vows to investigate efforts to censor Biden critics.
The Washington Examiner reports:
In October, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, called on Musk to produce all Twitter records related to the social media platform’s decision to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story. His appeal followed a previous request to former CEO Parag Agrawal to preserve documentation, which Comer said was ignored.
“Committee Republicans are investigating the Biden family’s pattern of influence peddling to enrich themselves and President Biden’s involvement in these schemes,” Comer wrote to Musk. “As part of this investigation, Committee Republicans are reviewing the role Big Tech — including Twitter — played in supporting the Biden campaign in 2020 by suppressing certain stories implicating the Bidens.”

It may prove the downfall finally of a corrupt Washinton DC and their WOKE efforts to betray the American people.
