Some Democrats — we’re looking at you, Jerry Nadler — balk at the idea of babies receiving appropriate care after surviving a late-term abortion. The New York congressman criticized the concept again yesterday before the House of Representatives passed a new pro-life bill.
H.R. 26, also known as the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, would require health care providers to provide “the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.”
Ultimately, two Texas Democrats helped Republicans pass the first measure on a 220-210-1 vote, as The Hill explains:
Rep. Henry Cuellar (Texas) was the only Democrat to support the measure, while Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas) voted present. The Hill reached out to the two lawmakers for comment on their votes.
Cuellar, an anti-abortion Democrat, has broken with his colleagues on abortion-related measures in the past. In July — less than one month after the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade — Cuellar was the only Democrat to vote against the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would enshrine the right to abortion in federal law.
Cuellar’s vote is likely to spark frustration among progressives, who worked to oust the congressman last year. Some left-leaning lawmakers supported Jessica Cisneros in a Texas House primary last year and criticized the chamber’s Democratic establishment for backing the incumbent.
“On the day of a mass shooting and weeks after news of Roe, Democratic Party leadership rallied for a pro-NRA, anti-choice incumbent under investigation in a close primary. Robocalls, fundraisers, all of it,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) wrote on Twitter in May, the day of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Both Cuellar and Gonzalez represent parts of the increasingly Republican Lower Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Most of their constituents are Hispanics, many of whom are culturally conservative.
A second measure condemning recent attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and churches following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade received additional support from House Democrats even as many criticized the resolution’s language for not condemning violence against abortion providers.
Three Democrats joined Republicans to pass the resolution: Reps. Gonzalez of Texas, Houlahan of Pennsylvania and Perez of Washington.
None of the representatives who supported the GOP measures responded to The Hill’s calls.

It’s pretty pathetic that the Democrats will not support a resolution condemning violence specifically against churches. This really speaks to the origins and support of Antifa by the leftists in Congress.
Hopefully this bill will pass. We MUST protect these innocent babies from bieng left to die with NO medical help! Anyone who opposes this bill has the blood of the innocent on THEIR hands! In the end, they will pay!
